GOP consultant Alex Castellanos dumped all over Gov. Rick Perry this morning on NBC's Meet the Press, calling him "Sarah Palin with a skirt" and a lesser version of George W. Bush - and not in a good way.
"He has some challenges. One of them is that people think he's a little bit of a coffee table book. He's kind of Sarah Palin with a skirt. Not a substantive candidate," Castellanos said when host Dick Gregory asked if Perry could give the current front-runner, Mitt Romney, a run for his money.
Castellanos - who has advised Romney...

Alex Castellano=(!) {no, make that (?)
I’ve read that 30,000 folks were there. Is that about right or is the media lowballing it?
Yes, Rick Perry, who at the time was a Democrat, was Gore’s campaign chairman in Texas for his 1988 campaign.
Law! I’d take Perry over Romney any day!
Excuse but isn’t Sarah Palin usually in a skirt so that comment makes no sense. The comment on him being Bush lite doesn’t really make much sense either given that the Bush people were for Kay Bailey Hutcheson (sp?) in the 2010 Texas republican Gov. Primary. Maybe instead of fact-check we need common sense check. (I’m not endorsing Perry I dont know that much about him other than the NR article a few months ago. He seems to come across as a baptist preacher more than a governor and that might not play very well nationally).
“Perry worked for Al Goreâs campaign? I did not know that”
That was when Perry was a Democrat and Gore was a pro-life conservative Southern Dem.
In 1989 Perry switched parties and became a Republican and never looked back. He was 39 when he switched, vs. Reagan, who was 51 when he switched from Dem to R.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it
Allright! Outstanding! :-)
Palin endorsed Perry during his re-election campaign as Gov. and campaigned with him.
“Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: he doesn’t care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs.
That’s why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns - and you know how I feel about guns!”

nah. Either way Sarah wins.
Gore was a Pro life Conservative..WOW what a difference a few years make. Thanks for the info
Rick Perry isn’t white... Oh, and Rick Perry’s name is spelled “Herman Cain”. Keep that rino away from the white house.
Perry was a democratic state representative and was I suspect supporting a good ol’ boy in the democratic presidential primary in Texas during the 1988 primary.
Who were the democratic primary choices that season?
Michael Dukakis,
Jesse Jackson,
Al Gore,
Dick Gephardt,
Paul Simon,
Gary Hart,
Bruce Babbitt,
Joe Biden,
Lyndon LaRouche,
David Duke,
James Traficant,
Douglas Applegate,
Andy Martin,
By the way do you know who was the first Republican elected Lt. Governor in Texas?
Answer: Rick Perry
OMG!
He’s suggesting that Rick Perry is weak. Ergo, he wears a skirt...
Gore was a pro-life conservative Southern Dem.
You have links to this pro-life stuff you assert about Gore?
A lot of Southern Dems were pretty conservative “back in the day”. In fact, I would venture to guess that some were more conservative than many of today’s RINOs.
John Kennedy, with his stance on lower taxes and for space exploration would be drummed out of the Dem party of today.
JFK wouldn’t recognize the Dem party if he were around today. The Dem party is the Communist Party..they have gone so far left he would be shocked
Save your canned posts for somebody who gives a crap.
Gov. Palin endorsed the RINO Perry for his re-election.
So what. Did he speak up to protect her from the MSM
and Romney and Rove? No? RINO Perry works with Rove.
And claiming the RINO Perry “walks the walk of a true conservative” after he FORCED Gardasil onto chaste
6th graders to help his Chief of Staff’s company
just does not cut it as a conservative move, does it?
Nope.
NO MORE RINOs.
NO PerryCARE.
No RomneyCARE.
NO MORE RINOs.
