I'm not a pacifist, but I do agree with you that we should have gotten out of Afghanistan a long time ago, like sometime in 2002.

Of course, once we got in there, in order to leave, we would have to admit that we would end up there again in the near future, as long as the country remains muslim. And that would be politically incorrect.

I’m watching MSNBC and the Female Dem (Didn’t catch her name) said “Tea Party approval is ONLY 18%!”

That's because the other 82% think the government is the economy.

Canada is our largest trading partner and biggest supplier of our oil imports. Their economy is closely tied to ours, but as you menioned, they are more pragmatic and have a greater degree of national consensus than we do.

I keep on having an argument/discussion with a fellow conservative friend of mine who believes that the Reps need to do a better job of educating the public by laying out the facts and employing graphs, charts, etc. to get out the message.

Although I don't disagree that the Reps need to do a better job of framing the issues--something they should have done for months before the budget ceiling debate--I believe that we have millions of "drones" as Mark Levin calls them, who are impervious to facts and deal strictly at the emotional level. They are easily manipulated by the Dem politicos and the fact that most of them are dependent upon the government in one way or another makes it an easy sell. Our growing culture of dependency is going to make it very difficult to roll back the welfare state. If Obamacare stands, it is well-neigh impossible.

During his debate with Kerry on the senate floor last week, you could just feel the spirit pressure of his gentlemanly restraint when the Big Hair Mass moron asked him gotcha questions based on absurd premises. In spite of J effin Kerry's imbecilic queries,Marco simply responded with facts Ms Heinz’s well kept paramour could and would never comprehend.
That's the skill of a true American leader.

That sentence made absolutely no sense.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything...a lot of double negatives.

We have high tech, remote control machines with mega firepower that can usually inflict serious mayhem without damage to themselves, and without risking American lives. We should be securing the US borders with high tech air patrol bolstered by those same battle hardened troops.

Besides, we may well need them here at home for the upcoming race war currently breaking out in US cities.

Marco is a Cuban American. He was born in Miami and has little in common with Mexicon welfare illegals. Unfortunately, his parents were born in Cuba and it will be a battle royale to get him elected potus which may be fought down the line.

His words come freely flow eloquently and he needs no teleprompter since he is saying what he truly believes. He is RRII and one of the best we have in the Senate.

FOX Sunday panel - discussing Republican nominees/Iowa Straw Poll. -

Byron York -Pawlenty needs to gain the most in this poll. On Rick Perry/prayer rally - Perry raised the bar for open “reliogisity” among candidates. Iowa prefers “reliogisity”.

Susan ?, Washington Examiner - Contest between Bachmann and Pawlenty comes down to which candidate can get the most people to the polls.

Kirsten Powers - Wallace asks her about Romney. Powers agrees Mitt is the one to go after (as the frontrunner).

Juan - thinks Pawlenty may not be sufficiently strong enough to take on Romney.

I think what you are is a pragmatist. You are willing to go to war for national defense, and maybe national interest, but not to defend others who do not support us.

My strategy on Afghanistan would be to keep an aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean and run random bombing raids on Taliban strongholds and supply lines. Internal security would be up to the Afghan government, and if too many Taliban got themselves in office, make it known that the bombing raids would target Kabul.

My war-weariness tends to move towards blowing things up rather than withdrawing.

Other than Paul Ryan FNS was dullsville. You would think the shows would have something to talk about today, but they are in pure defensive mode.

Another beauty of the Tea Party is they are not run by polls so when they manufacture one, who cares. Who is the Tea Party and what are they polling? Sorry NYT, nobody believes you or your polls anymore.

Pray for America

The most forceful, articulate and MEANINGFUL voice I heard all this week was Michelle Bachmann on the phone talking with Cavuto and even Greta. She just nailed this whole thing WEEKS AGO and has demanded that Obama make the changes needed TODAY before the markets open tomorrow. She also noted that the ratings bureaus TOLD the Obo admin that doing NOTHING would be better than the debt deal they came up with.

Which of course we all knew.

So where is Bachmann on today’s lineup of Sunday shows? As far as I can tell, nowhere.

In fact, almost every guest on today (except arguably Ryan) is someone who participated in the destruction of the US economy.

In short, we’re on the road to another Dodd-Frank “solution”—wherein the people who destroyed the system are going to be tasked with “fixing” it.

We are really close to the end now. At least we know who needs to be exiled to the middle of the ocean when the time comes.

Search for David Gregory. You locate people on Twitter by searching their real names, not their screen names. I follow quite a few newsies to see what they are doing. I even follow some leftists, although you can’t criticize them much or they block you.

If we leave the terrorists will move right in.

And so? That will again happen anyway. So let them, then bomb them as they come....and as one freeper said...let God handle the difference. But get our guys off the ground.

“Exaclty, the regime never strays from more chaos to deflect what they are currently doing or contemplating.”

A point that many seem to always forget when analyzing a dictators need/desire for chaos: THEY MUST BE ABLE TO CONTROL IT. Just ask Ceaucescu (sp). Chaos is only good if a Marxist can control it. If they can’t...well...

I started it and got some help after a year or two when it started taking me a couple of days to finish. I learned a lot analyzing all the posts of some brilliant Freepers and do miss doing it. But now I am old and still work 60-70 hours per week and there is only so much time.

Fox Sunday Panel on downgrade.

Juan - obama is the man in charge, people can’t keep blaming it on others/past. Congress has been blamed the most according to polls (vs. obama).

Byron York - Wallace puts up NY Times poll - Republicans are blamed more on the job outlook. York comments S&P’s report comments on the politics of what is happening vs. results as others typically do.

Susan/Washington Examiner - Both sides (Dem,Rep) are very philosophically divided, end up in standoff, public sees this and blames this division. S&P’s warning with this downgrade may get them past their gridlock (like TARP). Does believe we will see Revenue increases (taxes).

Kirsten Powers - S&P wasn’t saying this was a bad economy, it was a comment on the people in charge right now - they’re not doing what needs to be done.

Yep...your entire post is where I stand as well Miss marple. And quite frankly I don't think even Karsi thinks his own people are worth protecting aside from Kabul. Rather like Kim-bo in N. Korea....keep the capital going. But in Karsi's case keep our troops on the borders and outlying regions just in case he needs them in Kabul.

I've heard far too many troops say the Afghan army cuts and runs. So leave them to their own defense, get our guys off the ground...and let the bombs do the rest.
