A bus, a shop and two patrol cars have been set on fire in Tottenham. An estimated crowd of around 300 have gathered and there have been reports of looting and shop windows being smashed.
Earlier in the day members of a community where a young man was shot dead by police had took to the streets to demand "justice".
The 29-year-old, named locally as father-of-four Mark Duggan, died at the scene in Tottenham, north London, on Thursday.
About 120 people marched from the local Broadwater Farm area to Tottenham Police Station, forcing officers to close the High Road and put traffic diversions in place.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Missiles were thrown at them. One was set alight and one was pushed into the middle of the High Road."
Officers were being dispatched to disperse the crowd, he said.
He could not confirm that those responsible for the trouble were connected to the protest. (snip)
Officers had been attempting to carry out an arrest under the Trident operational command unit, which deals with gun crime in the black community, according to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

Disarmed populace, of course.
And, that right there is the reason that Florida was the first state to pass 'Right To Carry' laws! The criminals were winning in Miami and the other large population centers. The solution was arming Florida citizens.
And it worked!! Other states noticed and most have also passed 'Right To Carry' laws.
I live in that town...no gangs, almost no crime, and the trouble makers are known to everyone. No graffiti on walls, no home burglaries, (everyone is well armed), wonderful place to live...just a little tough to make a living there.
Helps one understand why Obama reportedly said about Churchill's bust in the Oval Office..."get that thing out of here!"
Sydney Morning Herald’s account:
“Central London has seen student and trade union protests turn ugly in recent months but this outbreak of rioting is the worst seen in years in the suburbs.
The unrest followed a march to the police station in Tottenham in protest over the shooting dead of a minicab passenger by police on Thursday in an apparent exchange of gunfire.”

Mark Duggan and his girlfriend Simone Wilson
Tottenham is an ethnically-diverse urban area...
Well...well...well. Yet another multicultural triumph.
Do they resemble a certain older couple we all know and despise, or is it just me?
The likeness is indeed uncanny with this duo. Can you figure out the nature of the text and image on her top?
Nope. Can’t make it out.
They tend to use a great deal of PC phrases & words nowadays, especially SMH.. Anyway, I never liked living in North London; that was a couple decades ago when I lived there. Although, the UK, as a country, now is much more of a .. ummm... “ethnically diverse” country than was back in the 70s & 80s. Most of the people I still know in the UK moved out of London long ago & now live in other towns such as Luton. Also because rents and house prices, especially in traditionally more affluent & upper middle to upper-class areas such as the West End in London are through the roof. Though, now one still tends to get very rich Arabs or a few wealthy Pakistanis in the West End too.

Jamaican Posse dope dealer? Any more information?
Over here, these "urban youths" feel entitled to their own laws.
What they'll get in return is justice.
