Republicans Want Geithner to Walk The Plank After Credit Downgrade
Foxnews ^ | August 6, 2011 | Stephen Clark

Posted on 08/06/2011 3:45:05 PM PDT by bobk333

“No risk,” Geithner told Fox Business at the time. When asked whether S&P was wrong and that the U.S. would keep its top credit rating, Geithner said, “Absolutely”...

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. said the president should “demand” that Geithner resign “and immediately replace him with someone who will help Washington focus on balancing our budget and allowing the private sector to create jobs.”

“For months he opposed all efforts to reduce the debt in return for a debt ceiling increase,” DeMint said. “His opposition to serious spending and debt reforms has been reckless and now the American people will pay the price.”

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Geithner should go due to his "gross mismanagement of federal economic policy" as president of the New York Federal Reserve and secretary of the Treasury Department, citing his "direct role in the failure of the Fed to diagnose and act on the housing crisis."

"He presided over bank bailouts, auto bailouts and failed trillion-dollar stimulus plans," he said. "Last year, he announced to the American people 'welcome to the recovery,' when in fact our economic crisis has continued. He has contributed not only to the first-ever debt downgrade, but is on record as clearly disputing it could ever happen."

Get real! Little Timmy is doing what he’s been told to do.

IMPEACH OBAMA!

God knows, he’s violated the U.S.Constitution many times. It shouldn’t be that difficult of a sell since Democrats are looking to lose big time if they keep him in the White House.

On this day, Jimmy Carter awoke secure beyond measure in the fact that he will not go down in history as the biggest mistake the American voter ever made.

Excuse me? why just him? He had no vote in the abortion of a bill that got passed to raise the debit ceiling. IMHO every single stinking congress critter and denizen of the white house needs to be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. If they are an incumbent with more than 2 terms VOTE THEM THE HELL OUT!

There ain’t a plank short enough for Timothy (McVeigh) Geithner.

At least Timothy McVeigh had an objective in mind when he blew up the Federal building in Oklahoma City. Revenge for the Waco raid, or so he claimed.

Timothy Geithner just likes to see things blow up.

I really hate to disagree with my fav Jim DeMint, but...

Republicans are incredibly stupid!

Fire Geithner? Demand he resign? Are you kidding? The man is a genius! He possess many talents that are invaluable in seeing to it nobama is a one term president. Fire him? Hell, we need more like him. Lots more!

Republicans — GET IN THE GAME. WAKEUP!!

I’ll say it again. Every time I see a picture of Geithner I think of a young Professor Irwin Corey. They both have the certain befuddled look. Of course Corey probably understood economics better....
