President Obama praised the sacrifice of 31 U.S. troops who died early Saturday morning in helicopter crash in Wardak Province, Afghanistan.
The Taliban has claimed it shot down the aircraft with a rocket-propelled grenade. Seven Afghan soldiers on board the helicopter also died.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the Americans who were lost earlier today in Afghanistan, Obama said in a statement. Their deaths are a reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the men and women of our military and their families, including all who have served in Afghanistan.
Obama said their deaths would be not be in vain.
We will draw inspiration from their lives, and continue the work of securing our country and standing up for the values that they embodied, he said.
ABC News reported the crash killed as many as 25 Navy Seals, the elite force that specializes in commando raids, such as the one that killed Osama bin Laden earlier this year.
It is the most casualties American forces have suffered in a single day in Afghanistan.

If I said what I was really thinking the FBI would be at my door tonight. There are not enough of the @#^&!*^$#^% keys on the keyboard to strongly tell Obama where to go and what I would like to say. I know he/his administration has something to do with this. The same Seal Unit? While Obama is partying? Just too coincidental to be a coincidence.
My heart goes out to the families of these brave men. What A great and tragic loss to our military and our country. God bless them and keep America safe from the likes of Obama's anti-American friends. Blessings and prayers up
Bet he can’t wait for the funeral (photo op). The families should refuse him entry.
Hey...where have all the Code Pink nutballs been? where are the anti-war protests? and what about those body count numbers the liberals/media (same thing) so gleefully came out with?
“body count” is like some of these other terms:
McJobs
homeless problem
recovery for Wall $treet but not Main Street
on the MSM storage shelf until Jan 2013.
So when does Mr. Sorrow (or would that be King Sorrow or Emperor Sorrow?) start investigating how the effing Tollibon knew that Seal Team 6 was on that chopper and when it would be taking off and landing and where?

Oh please...this anti-American Marxist/Muslim pos doesn’t give a rat’s a$$.
Same thing came to mind. Very very sad.
There’s one missing from that list but I don’t want to say it.
18 more exruciating months.
My hearfelt prayers for the fallen.
So, my birthday party is still on, right? Some people are giving me $70,000 to be there. Oprah's gonna be there. And Stevie Wonder, too!
It’s time to bring our troops home and leave these savages to h*ll.
Whether we withdraw today or in ten years, the radicals will take over and it’s business as usual.
You can’t change these 12th century savages.
What does three percent mean?
I see he is wearing his golfing attire.
Heck no then the terrorists win. We have been saying that for 10 years. If you had said that in 2006, you would have been skinned alive. We can’t let a Democratic President give way to winning this thing. Look how good things are in Iraq....quite an improvement from 2003. Don’t be a code pink type person. You are better than that.
As if his voice carries no weight in the decisions concerning our involvement or on the ROE....
May God rest their brave souls, and bring comfort where none can be found to their families and friends.
Please Lord, give us strength.

It’s way past time to get out of Afghanistan. Spending trillions of dollars on endless war is not conservative. Bring our troops home and put them along the borders.
Don’t be a neo-con. The neo-cons are just as bad as liberals. Big government overseas is just as bad as big government here at home.
Further it shouldn't have been reveled who got OBL. All the blood of these brave sailors is on the hands of our fearless leader.
Obama parties while soldiers die.
