There are things that just should not be said. Were the leaks responsible for this tragedy? I don't know, but I do know that there are details of the raid that should never be made known to the public, but far too many of them were leaked in the weeks following the raid.

I know there are many here on FR (myself included) who probably know military information that is really neat and would make great conversation here on FR, but we also know the consequences of such actions.

In June 1943, Congressman Andrew May (New Deal Democrat-Kentucky) revealed during a press conference that the Japanese were incorrectly setting the fuses of their depth charges, causing them to explode well above where our submarines were waiting out the attacks. As a result, the Japanese Navy adjusted their fuses and became much more efficient at anti-submarine warfare. Vice Admiral Charles Lockwood, COMSUBPAC, estimated that May's big mouth cost the US Navy ten submarines and eight hundred men.

In 1942, shortly after the victory at Midway, the Chicago Tribune printed an article that stated that the US had prior knowledge to the Japanese plans and order of battle. Fortunately the Japanese did not spot this article, which almost certainly would have resulted in either an immediate changing of their code or the laying of a trap to lure the American carriers to their doom.

NOW it is being reported this was SEAL Team 6 that did the Bin Laden raid

They were headed for another similar raid, so it sounds

A lure, a trap, treachery by Paki intelligence!

Coincidence?

I think not
