This week I canned 3 quarts and 2 pints of Cayennes, 2 more quarts of tomatoes, a quart of Jalapeños and two pints of Habaneros and more coming every day. The Roma tomatoes are coming on strong this week and I suspect I'll make sauce and freeze it.

I've still got more onions to harvest, but honestly I have more than I can use. I'm going to try to dry my monster Chilies and make powder if my food processor will handle it. I've got only about a busshel of corn total, a real disappointment since I planted three times what I had last year, but this first planting failed and the corn that survived just got stunted this year and most withered. All the peppers are thriving and I have to harvest daily. Even the Savina Peppers, bells and cubanelles are thriving.

I've got one more late planting of red and pinto beans coming in, but they were dissapointing this year as well - less than a pound so far, but I made up for it with the 100+ pound potato harvest earlier this month.

The pear harvest will be major, but the grapes and blueberries have suffered. The peaches on my new tree made a valient effort but will hardly top golf ball size unless we get some sustained rain. The same goes for my baby watermelons, they are hanging on, but only the side of softballs so far. All the herbs died this year.

Here's a typical day's bounty (way too many hot peppers, lol):

Oh my goodness....LOOK at all those HOT things. You can be hot and spicy all year.

The weather seems to have been unpredictable all over the US this year. Glad you got a lot of some stuff....like 100+ ponds of potatoes. WOW!
