Immigration: An insolvent state hemorrhaging jobs enacts its version of the federal DREAM Act, holding out another carrot to illegal aliens by setting up a college scholarship fund for their children.
Illinois' Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday illustrated why liberals tend to run governments and economies into the ground by signing into law Monday the Illinois DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) Act, a seemingly innocuous and compassionate piece of legislation that sets up scholarships for anyone with a Social Security number or taxpayer identification number.
At a time when the Land of Lincoln is driving away business and jobs through increasingly burdensome taxation, liberal ideology trumps practicality by seeking to attract illegal immigrants to a state struggling to meet the needs of its citizens.
It seeks to educate the children of illegal aliens to compete for jobs American citizens can't find. An estimated 95,000 children of illegal aliens will benefit.
Supporters say that since the scholarships are privately funded, and Quinn was quick to make his own $1,000 donation, no state money is involved.
Yet state money will go to support a nine-member commission to establish and dispense these scholarships. State money goes to fund another interesting part of the law, the requirement for high school teachers and counselors to get special sensitivity training on the needs of illegal immigrants.

This would all be fun to watch except I know it won’t be long before CA, IL, and NY get federally guaranteed state bonds.
They already are..
So when are Ca and Il going to be sued by the Feds for usurping immigration laws?
They wasted no time rushing Az to court.
Next up: Ill-Annoy will pay YOU for getting a speeding ticket.

I thoughht you said not to worry....;....: )
Illinois can’t make them legal. Now we will know where they live and who they are.
So you can set up a scholarship to benefit only one group that is legal?

I hope Quinn’s house gets burgled. Then he’ll know how taxpayers feel.
Do you think that any republican state senators will lose primary support, because of the state dream act? Senators Radogno, Brady, Dillard, Duffy, and Althoff voted for it.
I doubt few here in the boonies know about this, so no, I don’t think they’ll suffer. My Senator, Christine Johnson, didn’t vote for it. That’s good to know.
Kirk Dullard(sic) is my state senator and I sure won't be voting for him, as like I said in my post #13 I'm spitting nails (still). Here's why:
(Liz knows a lot of this from previous threads)
Our youngest daughter has a B.S.Ed from ISU (IL State) and has been and is a TA, working with 'Special Needs' children. And through the summer has been tutoring one of the children she worked with - at the Mother's 'begging'.Needless to say she has a Student Loan from hell and I also paid thousands for her Tuition and 'stuff' she needed. So we were all on the hook for that B.S. Degree she earned. And she's certified by the state to teach K-9 and those certification tests are not easy. And besides her full time job during the school year as a TA, she ALSO works as a waitress at nights and weekends.
But NOW, a new 'requirement' has kicked in for all Certified IL Teachers, even working as TAs (this is why I'm spitting nails). They must all be also certified to teach ESL Classes!. And said ESL Course is a Masters Degree Level Course and it's an 'accelerated' Course, it's 17 Credit Hours. Now iirc 13 Credit Hours is considered a 'Full Time' student for one semester. And this Course & classes are all at Night and is $6,000!!, not counting books or fees, and is NOT reimbursable. It's $6K out of pocket, just so they can teach these f__king ILLEGALS ENGLISH! (I don't have my gun(s) out, honest). So not only do they get the DREAM ACT, they also get for FREE, that ALL Teachers to teach them with ESL Classes.
Luckily her grandmother was able to help with this tuition as I sure don't have $6K sitting around. But another itch I can't scratch is that even though this is a Masters Level Course not all of the classes are transferable towards her Masters Degree when she goes for that. But how she will be able to handle her two jobs AND now Night School, beats the hell out of me.
So Americans get screwed over again by the pols. First the taxpayers with the DREAM act, then all the Teachers by needing ESL Certification. Another kicker is that even Teachers who have a Masters must also take this ESL Course, so they get Bupkis!
Needless to say I see all these pols as TRAITORS and it'll be cold day in hell before I vote for any who supported this SH__!
Oh, there is a good part. The School District she works for has a 'deal' with IL Benedictine University in Lisle, they get a 50% discount. The 'regular' cost for a semester of the ESL Course is $12,000! Aren't they just swell. /s
Who will run against Dillard? I emailed Adam Andrzejewski, and I asked him to run.
[it sure WON'T BE for Dillard.]
