It may not be too long before the Left concludes that he is more valuable to them as a dead martyr than a live albatross. Ever since the Garfield assassination (by a nut who was an adherent of the utopian socialist John Humphrey Noye), our political assassins have come predominantly from the Left.
Guys like Ayers and Alinsky always believed the Movement was more important than any individual. Obama's pals play for keeps.
