Hes actually right. The Bush tax relief sunset was factored into the figures in this bill. If theyre not renewed, the taxes will markedly increase. If they are renewed, then by CBOs calculations that will create a $5T hole that will need to be filled. And (correct me if Im wrong here) if the Gang of 12 doesnt agree on a budget-cutting remedy, tax hikes will occur as a result of a trigger. Wow... some victory for the Tea Party.
Thanks, Republican leadership. Get bent, the lot of you.
You speak for me and millions of others. This is where we find ourselves today.

Republicans in Congress have shown great courage on the deficit, and deserve a lot of credit. The House passed the Paul Ryan budget, and all but 5 Republican Senators voted for it. They’ve come out strongly in favor of entitlement reform, and have Paul Ryan talking about the debt almost every day.
And they made the President and other Democrats eat their words and surrender by agreeing to spending cuts without any tax increases. It’s a tremendous victory.
This is the third real conservative government in the past 90 years, along with the Reagan Presidency and Gingrich speakership.

Thanks, your post made me smile, which doesn’t happen often these days.

Reid and the Democrats are just sore losers. They got their glasses kicked in the negotiations, and now are whining about it.

In Mormon Theology there is a small group of people, so devoid of their humanity that they get a special place. They are Called The Sons of Perdition. Growing up in Mormonism and being compelled to attend seminary before high school every morning we were taught about The Sons of Perdition but we never given examples. I want to thank Harry Reid for clearing up this long-standing void in my “religious training.” Harry Reid IS one of the Son’s of Perdition. Of that there is no question. Thanks again Harry!

now the truth comes out. Well of course, didn't you get the memo? "We have the pass the bill to see what's in it."
Obviously a new component of the legislative process.

If there are tax increases built into this bill, then why aren’t Reid and the Democrats bragging about them? Answer: because they aren’t there. There are no built-in tax increases.

Perhaps you should listen to Rush, he spent a good 2 horus yesterday and an hour today making the case that debt reduction agreement did do just that. If you don’t have radio, there are threads about it.

Face it, no one wants to actually cut something specific. They also don’t want to raise taxes. They are just scum.
I’d have to see the automatic cuts, my reaction is let them happen.
