Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser... The very idea of losing is hateful to an American. Gen. George Patton
America is a center-right nation but we will, under the right conditions, vote for a liberal even an extreme liberal. We might vote for a lush, a Lothario, perhaps even a lunatic.
But there is one thing Americans will not abide: A loser. Thats the one L word President Barack Obama cannot overcome.
And hes dangerously close to a full-on L7 face plant.
Forget all the talk about the Tea Partys big win on the debt ceiling debate (which it was, by the way). Focus instead on the fact that, as a minority faction of the minority party that holds just one house of Congress, they opened a can of whoop ass on the Leader of the Free World.
Less than 1,000 days after Obamas election swept progressives into power and conservatives into late-night gigs on Fox News, the Tea Party movement has beaten Barack back into borderline irrelevance.
Obama, aka The Smartest President Ever insisted for months that the debt ceiling be a clean bill, aka no restrictions, then abandoned that position for balanced approach, aka tax hikes.
In the end, Obama was forced to face the cameras Sunday night and endorse a plan that doesnt include any none of the presidents original demands. Heck, its such a lousy deal for his liberal friends that hes forced to brag about how well he works with his foes.
It is a balanced compromise reflective of a divided government, White House flak Jay Carney said yesterday.
In fact, it was a GOP proposal reflective of Obamas plunge in popularity among independents. His support from these swing voters is down to a pathetic...

The big lie going into this fiasco was that America was on the brink of default.
The big lie coming out of this fiasco is that the TEA Party were the big winners.
Conservatives have only a plurality in the American electorate. Like it or not, they have to win over independents and moderates. The good news is they’re more scared of spending and taxes than they are of lost benefits and Obamacare.
If this was a different country, they’d be setting protest tents now on Park Ave.!
I guess 0bama is happy that He's NOT and American!
Take Back AMERICA! Restore The Constituion!
FUBO GTFO 2012 !
A big lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.
Only proposal that made sense was not aired --> cut 1% a year off program spending at the discretion of the current Congress... can't agree --> 1% across the board.
I thought “L7” meant one was a “square”(and I can’t recall the last time I heard anyone actually being called one).
Doing that coupled with a zero baseline budget would eventually solve most of the problem.
The default is very real. We are 52 trillion dollars in debt; but what is strangling our system is the compounded interest. I have no idea if we can pull ourselves out of this. We shall see.
The Tea Party did not get a victory because they didn’t do a damn thing.
“The Tea Party did not get a victory because they didnt do a damn thing.”
Actually, a number of them folded like old Republican pros.
The house-cleaning continues.
In reality the “threat” was a government shutdown with funding limited to monthly receipts aka a balanced budget. This would have been a TEA party win.
In reality the solution became no shutdown, increased spending and increased taxes past the 2012 election. Ergo a huge win for Democrats and liberals.
That's the way I see it. August recess town meetings are going to be a bucket of ice water dumped on Tea Caucus reps.
To gage things, I’ve been operating on the - “what happens in the Scotswife household is probably happening in a gazillion househods” - principle.
What is happening lately?
The first payment is due next week for our oil heating budget. It is astronomical.
We are discussing taking one vehicle off the road temporarily to save on gas and insurance costs.
This, of course, will lead to fewer “economy stimulating” trips outside of the home - not that there has been much of that lately.
We are not getting our kids new backpacks for school - or new clothes.
My brother-in-law’s company just informed him and my sister that - on jan. 1st - they may have to drop employer funded health insurance for their employees (family of 6).
It’s looking bleak - really really bleak. We are hunkering down into survival mode, and I can’t wait until next November!
Obama got increases in debt limits and spending. How is that a loss to him?
This is so obvious.

Using the same formula some here use, the Axis forces won World War II. We did not win didley.
Agreed. A “double win” in the media for the communist in chief and his BUTT BUDDIES in the Senate and the House.
I'm suspicious of all this "Tea Party's big win" talk.
I think it's just an attempt by The Libturd Media to placate us going into the 2012 elections.
At least I hope that's their reasoning. If it is, they are in for a biiiiiiiiiiig surprise next year.
... how could any of you evil mean-spirited Freepers possibly think the Wee Wee is a loser? I mean, how could you do this?
