You answered my question with another question, so I will answer my own question for you... We got nothing in this deal. That's why it was NOT a compromise.
Having only the nominal control of 1/2 of 1/3 of the government, what did you hope or expect to “get” (using a debt ceiling as an “opportunity” to extract some budget concessions) and how would you suggest House leadership go about doing that?
