Kick out of Congress all those who votes yes inc Allen West(Vanity)

Posted on 08/01/2011 5:34:23 PM PDT by GreaterSwiss

The politicans voting yes lied to us. Allen West claimed to be a tea party leaning politician but lied. This was like Tarp all over. We had the house. All we needed to do was hold the line. Spending would of balanced. Now we are heading for QE3 and the depression can start as the interest increases.

A Reid version of the BBA that makes it to the Senate floor is unlikely to be a version we would want to see enacted.

READ THE BILL

Part of the compromise is that the BBA bill gets a floor vote, as is. If Reid reneges on that, it's a campaign theme.

West may have been a good soldier, even a great one, but that doesn’t mean he’s a conservative politician with principles.

Todd Rokita, my rep. turned out to be the spineless, GOP party apparatik that I guessed him to be, despite his rhetoric.

As God is my witness, I am pledging to spend every bit of extra money I have and work with the local TEA party to get him replaced in the primary.

This is getting really hysteria level. Sheesh, the obamanoid goonsquads could not divide freeperdom any better than these whines and wailings over West's recent TV impressions, impressions which are purposely hyped just like one would expect after he put Wassermanshits in her place. I had no idea there were so many left-leaning posters at FR, eager to murder a man's character for telling it like it is on Wasserpus and stumbling on schizophrenia of some tea party purists!

I will continue to support Colonel West, and he’s not even in my state or my congressman. Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater and give that beach DWS and her scum minions the satisfaction.

First of all, the House is only ONE branch of government under the control of the Republicans and tea party. The Senate and President is under control of the Democrats. John Boehner and Col. West are pragmatic. If the country defaulted on the debt, interest rates would go up sharply, increasing costs in every part of our lives. One branch of government can NOT MAKE THE CHANGES BY THEMSELVES! Republicans will have to keep control of the House, take control of the Senate and President, then extensive changes can be made.

Col. West is NO coward, and it is insulting to call him one. He is a true patriot and a good and decent man. They all had to look at the bigger picture. If Republicans can retain the House, take Senate and President, then extensive changes can be made to take back this country. Obama and his cohorts have buried numerous changes so deep, it will take 2-3 years of digging to get everything straight. Be patient, things will change for conservative.

I already did...registered as an Indie last week after nearly 40 years as a Republican. Scary, but it was liberating.

Somewhat off topic, but I have to ask...

I often see FReepers and folks on TV saying they are “registered” as Pubs, Dems, Indies, Conservatives, Libertarians, etc.

What’s up with that? I’m 69 and have never “registered” as a member of ANY political group. Are there some States that require that a voter must select a specific political group? Where I vote here in Texas, everyone votes at the same polling place in their precinct. ....This is an honest question.

Back to topic... I saw Col. West on FNC tonight and he explained his vote very well, using rationale and logic used in making military decisions. He said you’re never going to get 100% of what you really want, but if you can achieve 75-80% of those goals then you make plans on that basis and go forward. In his opinion, his YES vote for the bill fell into that category; it achieved some reductions in spending (with more to come this Fall) and did not include income tax increases. To hold out for everything that was desired would not have passed the Senate or Obama.

If you really understood strategy and tactics it might be fun to converse with you, otherwise you are just the typical smart ass who had nothing really to say except to bleat with the rest of the flock, nothing original or of any real thought process, just a parrot with a keyboard

Remember in military parlance “No plan survives the first engagement with the enemy, no matter how ell conceived”

So if you and you ilk expected a total rout and surrender consider this scenario:

1.Obama pleads no mas and cowers in total defeat and gives in totally, virtually leaving office, maybe impeachment and a Democratic replacement emerges quickly (Hillary)

2. Republicans, smelling blood (and rightfully so) close in on the kill and the Democrats sacrifice The One and once he is gone they install Hillary and another empty suit as a replacement of the deposed leaser

3. Democrats rally around Hillary, their base energized and move to a more centrist position, the same tactic as her husband used to diffuse the 1994 election

4. Now Hillary is the acting president and moving into the next election cycle she is not “damaged goods” as Obambi was but someone the Dems can rally around in sympathy and regather the voters who saw Clinton as “not so bad”

5. Going into the next election the Republicans bloody each other but in essence the Dems have no issue as the debate over a “Woman” candidate is already past and we are left to fight it out against a standing” president who “deserves a chance” to see what they can do

6. Independents split between Hillary and other contenders, we field a party hack because the established Repubs cannot jell enough votes behind Sarah or Michelle and we get Romney or worse

9. Hillary gets the women’s sympathy vote, Independents, Latinos, Jews etc. and we are left with a card board cutout of a candidate fighting against an incumbent

10. Everybody on our side says “what happened” as we are too busy trying to lose the war but win the battle

So there you are, a severely wounded Obama is a much better outcome than a mortal wound as he would be taken down by his own party to preserve their chance in 2012. Biden has NO chance, and look for another progressive to be pulled up behind Hillary for the election following or later. The sympathy vote pulls Dems in the Senate and House along and we get stuffed in the name of give her a chance, the first Woman President

Meanwhile, we all get here on this wonderful platform and bitch about how we did not get perfection, when it is the last thing we really want.

Just my 2c, have at it

It wasn’t, though. It actually guarantees a BBA vote in both the House and Senate, and then it gets sent to the states.

Your ignorance is absurd.

Since the BBA is vote is now completely decoupled, what chances do you see it getting through the Senate?

Conversing with you isn’t just a waste of time; there is value in seeing the RINO position wobble.

There is no kill to close in on.

This country is effectively a corpse at this point, and my guess is that the candidates that understand what happened today will run for the hills rather than for office. The growth in the debt that will result from today’s bill will guarantee that no “bipartisan” equitable solution will be available by the time of the 2012 election.

The “cuts” in the bill don’t even consume the baseline increases, and most likely will never even materialize, just like the “cuts” promised to Reagan, and to GHW Bush.

Most of congress seems to believe in fairy tales. Their fairy Godmother is due to arrive any time.

The complete idiocy of anyone thinking a $21B cut means anything at this scale is absolutely astounding.
