Kick out of Congress all those who votes yes inc Allen West(Vanity)

Posted on 08/01/2011 5:34:23 PM PDT by GreaterSwiss

The politicans voting yes lied to us. Allen West claimed to be a tea party leaning politician but lied. This was like Tarp all over. We had the house. All we needed to do was hold the line. Spending would of balanced. Now we are heading for QE3 and the depression can start as the interest increases.

You must mean the “short bus” list.

We got nothing in this bill, but the guarantee that nothing will embarrass Obama at next year’s election.

There are no cuts in the bill, and it totally surrenders congress’ authority over spending to an inelligible president.

West knows when to hold ‘em - knows when to fold ‘em - and wins the war...

As I stated before, I believe there were ‘No” votes cast only after it was known the bill would pass - and they could then play hero to the Tea Party for their own political gain.

This, to me, makes them worse than cowards.

“I’d be surprised if Allen West doesn’t say he voted Yes because it was the only way to put the BBA on both the House and Senate floors.”

How does that work? The BBA was not is the legislation just passed.

The stupid statement is yours.

Our precarious global economic position was rendered insoluable by today’s votes. Unfortunately you are ignorant of the situation we face.

Damn you’re an ignorant fool!

You look at a snowballing financial disaster and see a pretty garden.

It was in the bill. A floor vote in both houses of Congress was a part of this bill.

My Gosh, the ignorance here is astounding tonight.

I haven’t read anywhere where the BBA is included in this Bill. Can you provide ONE reliable link to this information?

My Gosh, the ignorance here is astounding tonight.

Isn't it ever!

I've had enough for this session. going to make some chamomile tea and get calmed down, grab my cat and get some sleep - I enjoy a good thread with intelligent debating - but both sides have to have at least a modicum of intelligence.

that ain't happening on one side tonight - OOPS - THUNDER...

Good excuse to shut down.

glad you, faucetman, etc were here tonight or I would be quite depressed - and probably take a long sabbatical from FR.

Not really. I watched the vote on c-span and the "no's" built and stabilized fairly early on. There were a sizable number of undecideds - from both sides - right up to the end and within the last two minutes you could see them switch to "yes" votes.

I did find a reference to it:

“However, the deal reached over the weekend does require that the House and Senate vote on a joint resolution proposing a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution. A two-thirds majority of each House would be needed to pass it, after which it would be referred to the states for possible ratification. Thirty-eight state legislatures would have to approve it to amend the Constitution.”

It apparently requires a “vote”, but no passage. So, it is already DOA. I don’t think LTC West’s vote will be excussed by most for a “vote” only. A previous version required it be passed by the Congress and sent to the states. That is what got the Speaker’s legislation passed last Friday.

You realize by changing your party affiliation you won’t be able to vote in next year’s primaries, depending on the state? So how does that help the candidates you want to see running either for president, the Senate or House?

Thankfully I live in a state where no one registers by party. Just walk in on primary day and ask for whichever ballot you want that day.

The “Budget Bill” back in the spring was just a small measure of where this thing was going. Boehner caved then, but most og the Tea Party held together and opposed him, and he got enough Democrats to come across to win his pitiful little budget bill that managed less that $1 billion in REAL budger cuts (when he PROMISED Tea Partiers $100 BILLION in the 1st yr of the new Republican Congress).

The Debt Ceiling was the “Holy Grail,” the Real thing to test the mettle of those who claimed to be “Tea Party.” Well, last Friday night, when the farce known as the Boehner plan come up for a vote, we got the results of the test — only 22 Republicans, less than a dozen-and-a-half of the Tea Party Frshmen and a few of the longer tenured and reliable Conservatives in the House — PROVED to be worthy of our support. The rest, did not.

Now, we could conclude that those who abandoned Tea Party Principles did so because they (1) were thinking strategically, knowing we couldn’t get the deal we wanted this time anyway, or (2) They never held the principles of the Tea Party in the first place — it was just a popular movement they used as a vehicle to ride into office.

Men and women like Allen West are either piss-poor strategists who don’t understand how Washington works, or they have a serious character flaw with regards to sticking to the principles they claim. I won’t judge West or any of the others specifically — but either way, those who DESERTED these principles MUST GO.

They need to be PRIMARIED OUT, and if they aren’t, then their needs to be a viable 3rd party candidate in their districts to offer the American people a REAL choice in next Novembers elections.

And don’t tell me about handing the election to Obama and the Democrats. Republicans won almost 70 House seats, 7 Senate Seats, a dozen governorships, 16 State Legislatures and scores of sity and governments — and yet Obama has gotten almost exactly what he wanted, both this Spring on the budget deal AND NOW, on the big Daddy Debt Ceiling fiasco.

WHY elct Republicans when we will get Democrat policies ANYWAY? Only those 22 who stood against Boehner Friday Night are worthy of Tea Party Support, and the handful of Republican Senators who stood strong with them — DeMint, Paul & Lee — and then 3 UNLIKELY Republicans who also stood against Boehner as well, Graham, Vitter & Hatch. ONLY these men were worthy of note and of thanks.

Time to CLEAN HOUSES in Washington of ALL but about 25 or so of this bunmch! Remember — West and most of these folks are com,ing home to TOWN HALLS in the next month or so — Give’em ALL a big ole TEA PARTY welcome!

Folks, don't lose heart, we've got to look forward.

Now that our leader Sarah Palin has apparently betrayed (on Greta of all places!) the SARAH PALIN FOR PRESIDENT Movement, we've got to find us a new leader of the SARAH PALIN FOR PRESIDENT Movement. I propose, and this is just an initial idea, open to discussion, suggestions, etc, the Honorable Mr Lyndon LaRouche!

(Thanks, Allegra.)

>>> West not only voted for it, but said the tea party had schizophrenia.

This thread efficiently makes his case.

Going by it he could instead just have said “bozos”.
