“That crap stopped working 15 months ago. Obama speaks and he loses 2 points. Unless the economy improves, he’s done.”

In general, I agree. But the dems have managed to set up a frame of the issue that improves their chances of making the Pubbies share the blame. It may be enough to at least save some Senators.

From Bill O'Reilly's site: "But as Charles Krauthammer reiterated Tuesday night, the Tea Party is a problem when compromise becomes necessary." I refuse to sign on to O'Reilly's site, so here is my answer to the above statement:

Krauthhammer has become part of the problem, as well has O'Reilly. What Charlie and Billy don't get is that the TEA party and conservatives in general are tired of supporting the Republican party that is just somewhat lessor than the socialist Democrat party.

Feel free to send the below to O'Reilly if you are a member of his site:

We don't want to compromise our liberties and standard of living anymore. Compromise by the Republican Party with the Democrat Party over so many years has gotten us to this socialist state of affairs. You can't deny that.

We The People are done with compromise. We want our Constitutional Republic/Heritage back! We want our Values back! You know, the Values that made this Nation the most productive, charitable, and free society in the history of the world?!

THE VALUES THAT ENCOURAGED EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, BUT NOT EQUAL OUTCOME;

THE VALUES THAT PROVIDED GUIDANCE FOR CIVIL/PROPER CONDUCT;

THE VALUES THAT RESPECTED AND EXPECTED SELF-ACCOUNTABILITY, SELF-DETERMINATION, SELF-RELIANCE, SELF-SATISFACTION IN JUST TRYING;

THE VALUES THAT ENCOURAGED SHARING/CHARITY AND NOT BY FORCE OF GOVERNMENT THROUGH SOCIALIST REDISTRIBUTION OF PROPERTY;

MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE VALUE OF INTEGRITY, WHICH WOULD PROVIDE FOR ALL THE ABOVE!

The best option would be for a few people like Lee to object but the bill to still pass and here’s why:

While I don’t believe there would be actual “default” as some say, if indeed there were disruptions in the DJIA, unemployment, or GDP (when GDP is barely running 1% and likely lower), a failed compromise that fails due to conservatives and liberals voting no while moderates vote yes, it will set the stage for 2012 to be a campaign of mushy, kumbaya moderation instead of strong conservative principles.

Lee is a good man but must tread lightly here...if he does this in protest but it still passes, he can argue as a favorable alternative in the Tea Party. If it fails, then the MSM will claim that whatever happens due to failure to act will be the fault of “extremist” Republican and Democrats (but mostly Republicans) which could hurt us in the long-term.

If the Tea Party members are hobbits, I guess that makes Pelosi and Reed Orcs. Yuck.

And members of the Democrat Party in general are therefore - dOrcs!

Good observation! Real conservatives wonder where in the world is Mr. DeMint? Where is the leadership?

The man’s silence tells me all I need to know about his tepid—at best—conservatism.

Dogs cannot decline to be muzzled. Humans can. DeMint can be muzzled because McConnell is the purveyer of ear marks (aka voter bribes). Can’t let that get in the way of what’s good for America.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see the conservative and Pubblie pres. candidate field diminishing quickly.

I like this upstart conservative that likes to filibuster because the Tea Partiers may very well fail to do their research on Perry and we may need alot of filibuster diehards to block a guest-worker amnesty bill or DREAM ACT put up by a potential Perry president.

The next time a telemarketer from any Republican organization calls me, I'm going to tell them I'm going to send them a thousand dollars.

Over ten years.

Beginning in 2013.

After my wife and our two girls sit down and agree with our two sons and myself whether we should cut our trip to the monster truck races or their trip to The Ice Capades.

But, first, we'll need the RNC (or whatever organization called) to send us two thousand dollars so we don't lose our house.

Or our cars.

Or my Friday night seat at the No-Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament at the local casino.

“I just got online.....are we screwed?”

It says something about the state of politics in our country, that you could have asked this question three months ago, or could ask it three months from now, and it would be just as appropriate as today.

And the Orcs pillaged, destroyed and enslaved. That is the modern Democrat party. The analogy is very apt.

Indeed.

Juan is so stupid, he didn’t realize he was paying the Tea party a COMPLIMENT!

I like Mike Lee too, and watched his speech 30 minutes before the vote I was expecting a filibuster. Here is a link to what he said:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyjWMAlMu2w

We need many more like him to be elected in 2012. Require a commitment to a Balanced Budget Amendment before we elect them.
