Is “RINO” a legitimate term anymore? Seems like they outnumber conservatives in Congress time and time again, even when we try to correct this via the Primary process.
I don’t even know if a third party would work. If it failed, all conservative representation could be lost. If it succeeded, you’d have *RINOS* from the GOP jumping ship to cash in on the success.
We’re screwed. Until we get people we can trust in leadership positions, we’re just flat out screwed.
Yes, it refers to someone who purports to be a Republican but does not support the party frequently enough. It is continually misused in this forum by people for whom semantics were an option when they learned English.
I've been wondering that myself. Since the Republican Party has become nothing more than Democrats Lite, the few true conservatives in the party might, in fact, be the real "RINOs" now.
In any event, as you say, we're screwed.
At this point a separate Tea Party is the ONLY way to go. If they lose at least our votes weren't thrown away. We will have voted for the right thing. Voting Republican is simply meaningless now. They're not called the stupid party for nothing. The Dems have got to be laughing their butts off right about now.
