” Why bother having a freaking Republican party at all?”

To represent moderates, of course.

You want a conservative party, you’ll have to start one. It will be small and powerless as there aren’t enough conservatives in America to overcome the statists and moderates. We’re lucky we made it this far with 25% of the population on our side.

Many moderates identify themselves as conservatives but they aren’t when it comes down to the nitty-gritty.

Actually they not only identify themselves as conservatives, they view anyone to the right of them as dangerous radicals.

Best deal is the “Do Nothing” plan. No debt ceiling increase. No tax increases. Government has too start cutting and prioritizing spending immediately.

There isn’t enough time to save the country with a Conservative Party. Obama knows this and so do the Country Club RINOS who run the GOP.

Thecutting in spendoing of some 12 trillion dollars is also set over for the future, and NONE OF THOSE CUTS WILL EVER HAPPEN.

We need immediate cuts to government spending in the order of some 2 trillion dollars.

Actually, many of those moderates are conservatives except when it comes to their favorite program. There are so many people who want less spending in general, lower taxes, strong defense, and are pro-life, but have one or two pet programs they will fight to keep getting funded. It’s understandable, but extremely frustrating. We no longer have the luxury of paying for everyone’s pet project.

We are fighting two wars right now plus Libya. This is not the time to cut Military spending and put our soldiers at risk.

We need someone from the Show Me State to be speaker.

What happened to the required time to review and score the bill?

These “entitlement” programs are the things that are killing us.
Too many folks getting far more money for years than they put in to the system.
Until politicians grow the spine to tackle these NOTHING will get accomplished

It is one thing to constantly increase gub mint spending when the economy is robust. Quite another when it has tanked.

The best deal is no deal. We’ve been getting along without a budget this long play it out to the election.

If Boehner passes this piece of crap—or some slightly improved version—he and every conservative/Pubbie who votes for it needs to be put on notice.

Just to add to the ‘flair’, Boehner should go to the ‘pre victory party’ and (of course if given the chance to speak) while flanked by BO and Reid, very calmly say. “Today is a great day in the History of our Country. I am going to ‘bury the hatchet’ and unequivocally agree with my two esteemed colleagues by using their own words. “GENTLEMAN, your proposal is Dead on Arrival, when it reaches My chamber”.

Then, Let the games begin.
