They want the House to be the ones to vote it down so they can blame them for what the White House decides to not pay.

It was all pre-arranged weeks ago. Everything else has been a Kabuki Dance for entertainment value only.

Yep, Obama and Boehner worked out the script on the golf course, everything has gone according to plan.

That sounds right.

Exactly to the plan.

I wonder when the new freshmen will realize they got used and played by Bonehead and Cantor.

Not if Bonehead and Cantor are still in leadership positions.

There has never before been a tax hike with a debt ceiling increase and the cuts are bogus.

This is by far the biggest debt ceiling increase ever, designed exclusively to get Obama reelected.

Clearly, you cannot cut government by giving it more ability to borrow and spend. I don't think it is possible for this country to have a more sorry bunch of losers running the show.

Again, cut, cut, cut.

What kills me is that this jack ass thought Jim Bunning needed to go because he was old and out of touch. I wish Bunning was in the Senate leadership roll. At least he had his act together and was fairly Conservative compared to McConnell.

Obama's caving on almost all points.

if there's a default he will blamed and he knows he needs the House to pass it.

It looks like he's giving up on less cuts than hike, one tranch, increasing taxes, BBA, and he's even allowing conditional Medicare cuts (if they don't make the second round of cuts Medicare gets cut).

The left-wing blogs are furious at the Won tonite.

Won’t the house have to approve this?

Eventually.

We won't just automatically go in to default. That's up to Obama.

If we can believe the Post write up...we are going to get cuts and no tax increase.

Raising the debt ceiling is a tax increase.

raising the ceiling to 2013?

That’s the only thing these bastards wanted in the first place. That’s the only thing Reid was asked to get for Obama.

If they cave on this, then it’s over. I’m done with this f ing republican party, and you can be sure we lose in 2012.

Who said they would wait until 2013? They want to raise it before Wednesday.

And Reid was out there before the camera with his Hoard of Hoodlums--Mrs. Sourpuss to his right and Lurch prominently featuring in back--flanking and behind him as he said Mitch McConnell refused to speak to anybody on the Democrat side.

Shortly after, we learned from Boehner and McConnell they'd been talking to Obama for an hour!

Now we see McConnell's been talking to Biden!

When is Reid going to TELL THE TRUTH?

There were multiple opportunities in that very press event to call Reid on lies, misstatements and half-truths as they happened. No follow up came. The Reid version became "gospel" and flooded the airwaves.

The democrats need only 25 republicans to pass a bill in the House. If they get cooperation, they could get it to the floor quickly. If they don’t, it could take months, if ever, for it to come to the floor, iirc.
