People should call the Liberals bluff and point out that SS is supposed to be in a lock box and not be pilfered for general expenses.
The same with things like highway funds. I've read that something like 30% is skimmed off the top of highway funds for things not even remotely related to transportation. Then money goes to things like bike paths, rain gardens, and sustainable communities.
If it were up to me, highway funds would go strictly to interstate highways and their bridges. The states and local communities could deal with their own roads. Hell I live on a dirt street and it doesn't cost a dime to maintain because they don't even run a plow down here during the winter.

Exactly!
When allowed the lottery here in Colorado, it was clearly stated on the ballot that the funds would go to State parks and recreation.
Shortly after the ballot passes, the State government ignored this requirement and started spending the funds on other things like prisons, etc. We had ANOTHER election which made it very clear how and where the wanted the money spent.
Seems like the same MO for the bureaucrats.

What exactly is a sustainable community?
Is that like a gulag or commune?
