NPR: Obama Faces Grumbling On The Left
NPR ^ | July 30, 2011 | Corey Dade

President Obama may have lost a direct hand in the debt-limit negotiations, but some of his liberal base is still seething at the concessions he was willing to make to Republicans — especially Social Security and Medicare cuts that may yet be in the offing.

When a few hundred liberal activists protested outside the Capitol on Thursday, they vented most of their frustrations at Republican lawmakers — especially the Tea Party caucus — who called for deep cuts to safety net programs in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. But they also blamed Obama for agreeing to put entitlement programs on the bargaining table at all.

That discontent is starting to seep into the deepest corners of Obama's base. A Washington Post/ABC News poll released this week showed the president's poll numbers falling, even among liberals and African-Americans — his most loyal backers. Only 31 percent of liberal Democrats expressed strong support for Obama's record on jobs, a severe drop from 53 percent last year. And slightly more than half of blacks believe Obama has helped the economy, compared with 77 percent of them in October.

To his liberal supporters, Obama's concessions on the debt plan were just his latest failure to defend core Democratic principles. Last year, he extended the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and gave up the public option in the health care debate.

****************************

Only from the race identity bunch. Farrakhan andt the non-entity who was calling on blacks to “kill cracka babies”.

I expected more from the left not only on the “blood for oil” aspect, but also from the brazen reintroduction of Western Colonialism in Africa. Pure gunboat diplomacy for material ends.

The left is getting reacquainted with reality.

It's hard to admit that everything you know is wrong, and most will continue to deny the obvious to frolic in their land of make-believe.

Seriously? 31% approve of his record on JOBS? WTH? These LibTards cannot only be drinking the Kool-Aid, they are licking the undisolved crystals off the bottom of the pitcher.

Where the he11 is Peggy Joseph and how's that mortgage and fuel bill she was raving about the O'tard picking up the tabs for?

Probably meaningless, because both groups pull the straight-ticket lever for the Demwit party, always have, always will.

Certainly that is a big part of it. There seems to be genuine grief there too, which surprised me as I figured he was a pure cynic. But yeah, that is a lot of bucks he is not getting right now. Once again, a great opportunity lost to drive a wedge in BO’s base.

I think there are plenty of democrats hoping for a challenger to emerge in the democrat primaries. But, they couldn’t dare say so and play the race card against themselves.

Republicans, and especially Tea Partiers just don't get it. Americans are entitled — entitled! I say — to all the, all the ..., well all the entitlements they have come to depend on.

So what if governments have to borrow money to pay for these entitlements. They're entitlements, for crying out loud!! What part of ‘entitlement’ don't you guys get?!!!

It's just stupid — mean and stupid, to have a cap on debts. Americans are entitled to that money & the rest of the world knows it. That's why the rest of the world will just keep on lending and lending to America. No questions asked. The money is for entitlements after all. The rest of the world knows what they're entitled to — they're entitled to keep on lending that money to the USA. Otherwise, Obama will not be amused.

There, fixed it.

I just peeked at the Obama's copy of the Declaration of Independence. It says we have the right to, "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness at other people's expense...."

He could, but he wouldn’t dare. I doubt anyone will. Obama is going to set the democrat party back for quite a while (I hope).

Medicare cuts?

Let me tell you about medicare cuts.

I have noticed since Obamacare passed medicare has paid out less. I have had a family member tell me that their physical therapy was cut off early because the director of the program told them with the changes out of DC because of Obamacare, senior outpatient services were being targeted.

And I have heard from more than one person that their elderly relative was told they couldn’t be hospitalized because of medicare cuts from Obamacare.

I’ve also heard of doctors saying they are not going to accept medicare anymore because it was cut so badly under Obamacare.

It’s Obama and his ilk and that vicious HC plan causing the damage to medicare, not the other way around.

The Black, Lesbian, Liberal comedienne (matter of opinion I guess), stated after the election that she donated $50 (or so) to the BO campaign and now that he is elected she wants her payback. After some acerbic, raucous rantings she even spit out ‘I want mine now because if he screws up it will be another 200 years before another Black is allowed to run for Pres.’ Not a direct quote etc, but the gist is there.
