has anybody been able to find the citation that goes along with Sanders revoked Silver Star ?
My guess is you're talking FOIA here...and someone in the Kerry camp was able to obtain the language of an SVPT citation relatively quickly but I don't recall the specifics.
some web sites list the awardees & their citations.
I just subscribed to “the American War Library”. They have Sanders listed, but no awards are listed. (I'm still feeling my way around the info)
National Archives = nada
I'll keep pluggin away.
“It was my understanding that Sanders bronze was upgraded to silver.”
Possible I guess but nothing definitive has been reported (that I’m aware of anyway) by the U.S. Navy or other media sources. Either there’s a lid over this story or no media is interested in pursuing it.
Had “American Thinker” not broken the story online (via a Swift Vet forum post) which was subsequently picked up by Drudge, it would never have seen the light of day.
I remember when it was initially awarded................................it is seared in my memory,
Hopefully, so will the "fourth estate". According to Fox News...
The case indirectly stemmed from the child porn conviction because the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) only looked into his record after the child pornography charge. As this was an NCIS investigation, it appears that an NCIS investigative record is FOIA obtainable. Surely some enterprising news organization will be pursuing this. Right?
