After a wild and bumpy ride, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed Speaker of the House John Boehners Budget Control Act Friday evening. The vote fell along party lines at 218-210, with 22 Republicans voting against the bill.
The House passage comes after many hours of arm-twisting and negotiating to get enough of the GOP freshmen class to promise a yes vote. At several points, the plan was on clear life support, with little chance of surviving. (RELATED: Obama makes last-ditch plea for a debt deal)
One of the later converts came Friday afternoon with Rep. Jeff Flake of Arizona.
But it wasnt without significant tweaks to Boehners plan. The speaker added a provision Friday morning that made a second tranche of money to raise the debt ceiling in six months from the passage of a balanced budget amendment.
Yet however much of a victory this is for the House GOP, the Budget Control Act is likely doomed. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has publicly said the bill will fail in the upper chamber. And today, President Barack Obama essentially said getting the bill to pass in the House had been a waste of time.
[It] does not solve the problem, said Obama.

FUJB!
Let the Senate vote!
Now....don’t sign ANYTHING.
Time to call all GOP Senators and tell them to put the pressure on McConnell not to cave to Harry Reid.
I believe the momentum is swinging our way.
The “problem” will be solved in 2012 when we vote the poser 0bama out of office.
What bothers me is that we do not know what actually was voted on and passed in the House? What were the terms and conditions on spending and borrowing? I mean exactly.
Right now, we the people know NOTHING while the Washington elites are determining what they are going to do to us.
That bothers me.

YOU are the problem Zero!
The problem will be solved next year!
Dingy Harry’s turn.
so now we know. we have exactly 18 people in the house that we can trust. that are not cinos. 4 of those 22 switched back at the last moment from yes to no.
we need to know who those four liars are. hopefully that will be revealed by the 18 conservatives good and true.
after last december, i estimated we might have 30. i was over optimistic.
i will be supporting the opponents of cantor, boehner, mccarthy and all his cronies next year. they must be ousted.
Who is the party of “no”?

Waiting for Senate vote.
The House has all the power, and holds all the cards. Nothing happens without the approval the House. What the Senate and the President claim they will approve is irrelevant. The House neither needs nor wants the debt limit to be increased, nor needs, nor wants a single penny of spending beyond that which is Constituitonally authorized. The House isn’t trying to spend any money, it’s trying to avoid it!
If the President or Senators want to spend or tax, why should the House care about that? If they don’t like what the House is willing to let them spend, they will like the House’s next, lower offer even less. And the lower one after that yet again less than that.
Their screams, pleas and non-sequitur non-sense can and should simply be ignored. They either accept what the House is willing to give them, or not. Period. End of discussion.
How many trillions of dollars do children-not-yet-born now owe? Answer: none. At this rate they won’t even have a pot to piss in. Greedy bastards.
Dems dont pay taxes so increasing the $92,000 dollars that each working man owes is no issue to them.
Dems need to buy votes and wil fight to increase what we each owe up from $92,000 dollars.
Bubba knew enough not to threaten seniors and the military etc etc.
Obama is just plain stupid.
What will be fun will be watching Obama explain why our credit rating was downgraded anyway because its going to happen no matter what.
