1) Since when did "African" become a "race?"

Your question presupposes accuracy on the part of the person filling out the birth information. *IF* the long form we've seen is actually the original birth certificate for Obama, it is readily apparent to me that Barack Obama Sr. was no where near the document when it got filled out. Instead, it is highly likely that Stanley Ann was the person that wrote his name and information on the paperwork. That Stanley Ann may have made some mistakes or had bad information is not remarkable to me.

2)Then there is the issue that Kenya was not a country the year Obama was born, and Kenya is listed as his father's place of origin.

That is likewise not remarkable. The Name "Kenya" was used all over that region for something like a Century before 1961. I believe the region is named for mount Kenya. The people of the region have called it Kenya long before it became it's own country. Stanley Ann, (who probably never heard of Kenya prior to meeting Barack) simply wrote down what Barack had told her previously.

3)Regarding the hospital that Obama was born in. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital".

The problem with this theory is that the Nordyke Birth Certificate uses the exact same name of the Hospital as does the Obama certificate. Whatever the claim is regarding when the Hospital was called what, the fact that a Genuine 1961 birth certificate uses that exact name trumps all theories that it shouldn't.
