But that actually is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about something that started to become apparent to me during the debt negotiations. It's something I've never seen in national politics.
It is that nobody loves Obama. This is amazing because every president has people who love him, who feel deep personal affection or connection, who have a stubborn, even beautiful refusal to let what they know are just criticisms affect their feelings of regard. At the height of Bill Clinton's troubles there were always people who'd say, "Look, I love the guy." They'd often be smilinga wry smile, a shrugging smile. Nobody smiles when they talk about Mr. Obama. There were people who loved George W. Bush when he was at his most unpopular, and they meant it and would say it. But people aren't that way about Mr. Obama. He has supporters and bundlers and contributors, he has voters, he may win. But his support is grim support. And surely this has implications.

Unfortunately he still has way too many worshippers.
Absolutely not true. Around here, there are folks who still wear Obama T-shirts...no joke.
Hey, even his father wanted to give him away.
She's just as bad as Colin Powell. FYPN!
Chris Matthews.
Having never loved him in the first place, I’ve never had to stop! I expected him to be horrible for this country and I can say, he has lived up to my expectations.
I stopped reading Peggy years ago. Sometimes I think the last time she wrote something worth reading was Reagan’s address after the Challenger disaster.
I remember when you were swooning like a bobby-soxer over The Guy With So Many Teeth.
At that time, you were probably so buzzed with booze and 'bama that you didn't notice that there were no long-term friends of Obama, no girlfriends, nobody who could even remember him from Columbia. We out in Flyover noticed and knew. No proud professors. No affectionate neighbors. His only friend, Jarrett, seems to function as a kind of nanny.
Nothing but an endless line of grifters who held the next door open for The Guy With So Many Teeth.
lol, and his mother also. She sent him to Hawaii to grandma and grandma when he was obviously disturbing to the household.
I think most of the “worshipers” are race worshipers. I do see the “grimness” of his other supporters among my personal friends.
I love how Peggy describes Mr. Claire Shipman as a flop sweat ferret....
Here what you do GOP, you tell the Senate and 0 "CCB was the compromise, if you want a bill, there it is.".
Peggy only covered the ‘not like’ crowd. Then there’s the ‘hate everything he stands for’ bunch.
You said it. And soon there may be more reason for more people to fear him.
Peggy has often brought an unusual slant to her political analysis. An emotion-based esoteric slant. She is usually right on the money when she wanders into this territory. I think you will see Obama’s “personal” numbers go down as more and more of the electorate cannot feign that he has a likability factor.
She helped usher in this horror on us.
Has she lost that lovin feelin now???
I doubt it.
I can’t stand the old wench, but she did have a good line...
“He is not a devil, an alien, a socialist. He is a loser. And this is America, where nobody loves a loser.”
“The traitor Noonan was dripping for Soetoro 3 years ago.”
Yup. Peggy pulled her dress over her head for the Kenyan lizard in 2008. Ans she is wrong about no one loving the lizard. The sunbathing Kenyan loves himself very much.
