I don’t understand your argument.

It’s that if another bill is sent over to the Senate, Reid will water it down and send it back. The reply to that was that he’d do that no matter what bill we send over.

But you say he _won’t_ do that to CCB. I’m surely happy if he has to vote on CCB - but why would’t he water it down [just like Boehner bill] then hand it back to Beohner?

You said “Because the RAT Senators would have to vote on a watered down CCB Bill to send it back to the house.” - Well that’s why they water it down - to make it more palatable to Dems.

I don’t get your point.

Reid will then make it into whatever he wants and send it back to the House where Obama will use Boehner’s words against him to pressure him to pass the Senate bill?

No, the TEA won't pass it. They'll just fix it and send it back. Ping pong.

RE :”I understand that they are trying to achieve real spending cuts, but that is hard to do when the enemy controls the senate and presidency. I am concerned that they will give Obama a weapon for 2012, Right now Obama owns the economy, but the GOP could share that ownership if they are not careful

I still remember Newt talking tough in 1995..... well the other day one freeper actually told me that Clinton blackmailed Newt with FBI pictures to get him to cave in on all of Clintons original budget demands after 3 weeks of shutdown and to send him the PASSED budget he originally demanded. Best story on that I have heard yet.

Boehner’s bill looks in trouble with principled conservatives ironically joining enemy Marxists to defeat it for completely different reasons.

I hear and read two contrary themes/rationales on holding out:

1) is the positive Rush type view “Holding firm with the CC+B(with the BB amendment) bill alone is a clear winner, voters will rally to Republicans side, Holding firm will get an even better outcome. Reid will cave, Obama will cave. This will be a glorious victory when Obama signs CC+B with the debt extension.

contrary version 2 is much more pessimistic

2) “It doesn't matter what bill Obama signs into law in the end even when the House is Republican controlled, no matter how bad it is (even if it's much worse than Boehner’s watered down bill for example) . Individual members are not responsible for the final outcome or even the final Republican House vote and are only responsible for their individual votes. They need to vote ‘No’ and block anything that is not near ideal (even if that means joining all Democrats on occasion ironically) and ‘let the chips fall where they may’. I am right and that is all that matters

3) I read that sometimes goes with #2: “ I don't care if I am re-elected.“

RE :"2012 is everything."

Go back and read #3 :)

By mid next year most of the brave talk about not caring if Democrats win the election will disappear again and will be replaced by talk about how we must defeat Democrats or we all will die, much like last year.

Sarah Palin reined Boehner in with a single face book post and an identical e-mail to House Conservatives.
Now we see whenether we will have a 3rd party or not. Many will know by the end of Friday. All of us will by Monday.
Sarah may declare her candidacy next week as an Independant dakini. And she will win.

This "crisis" would be the perfect catalyst for Governor Palin announce her candidacy. And how ironic it would be considering McCain's decision to suspend his campaign at first bell of crisis!

From your keyboard to God’s ears. If this vote is the deathknell of the new whigs...aka the gop...it might even be worth it.

The new guys are doing what they were sent to do, and that is to hold fast.

As a result, some may lose next year because of the dysfunctional nature of the American electorate, but they are doing the right thing here.

No, I, like you want the CCB to pass. Period.
Whatever it takes.

well of course we want CCB. We’ve both been following it for a while and don’t understand why it can’t come back.

But if your assertion that whatever is presented can simply be watered down, what good would it do anyway.

We need another path to it.

The country overwhelmingly supports spending cuts (I have yet to see a poll that contradicts this).

I would be very happy if they could just force the Dems to accept real spending cuts. But they already promised the banksters that they would raise the debt ceiling. Right now Obama owns this putrid economy, and he would love to blame the GOP for raising interest rates.

Sometimes the polls show the people want spending cuts until their oxen get gored.

Yes, we do. I don’t know what that path will be. I only know the two plans Boneheads and Reids do not begin to seriously address what must be addressed and real soon to save this country.

TEA should start being vocal about CCB. But they can’t continue to be viewed as offering nothing.

Reid and Obama are going to hurt TEA. We need more TEA - someone has to step up to the podium and take charge. Make noise - do something.

I really wanted them to vote on Bohmer’s plan until I educated myself. Now I LOVE seeing the conservatives flex some muscle and do the right thing.
