MIAMI — Two brothers have been arrested after being accused of striking a pilot and a flight attendant onboard an American Airlines plane grounded at Miami International Airport.
Luis and Jonathan Baez were waiting for their flight to depart to San Francisco when a flight attendant noticed Jonathan didn't have his seatbelt buckled during the taxi on the runway.
She attempted to have him fasten it, but he was unresponsive and appeared intoxicated or on narcotics, according to the arrest report.

Luis Baez accompanied his brother off the plane, when Jonathan threatened the pilot, saying, “If you fly to San Juan, I will have you killed,” the report said.

Um, if I see someone attack an airline attendant and a pilot, I will assume hijacking. They will continue breathing for exactly as long as it takes me to get to them.
Many common items perfectly legal to have on baord a plane can be very effective weapons if you know how to use them. And I’ve made a point of learning how. But even if someone hasn’t, they can be effective if they think it through beforehand. For example, a well swung laptop up the side of an unsuspecting perp’s head will do some real damage...

If you look at some of the past incidences, the air marshals intervene but it seems that it’s typically in flight, not on the ground. They’re not on every flight, but they are on a fairly good number of them. I’ve noticed a few before in first class, they have some sort of deal with the airlines. There was a story about air marshals making a scene when they weren’t given first class seats although I think they were off duty at the time.
That or its infected from that ridiculous eyebrow piercing.

In this post 9-11 world, the footsteps you'll hear will be mine, joining you. I'll assume hijacking as you would, and to me that means do nothing and certain death, or fighting like hell to save my life.
The bail is ridiculously low. I hope that one fellow's eye is shut because some passenger knocked him good. I would have torn that piercing right off of his face.
I don't think it was anyone’s attempt to try to fix stupid, though. Nobody’s *that* dumb. :)
