MY LETTER TO MY REPS RE: THE DEBT CEILING & BUDGET
JEFFHEAD.COM ^ | July 28, 2011 | Jeff Head

Posted on 07/28/2011 4:30:23 PM PDT by Jeff Head

Senator Crapo, Senator Risch, Representative Labrador,
July 28, 2011
RE: The budgetary/financial crisis
CC: Representative Simpson

I’m sending this letter to my elected representatives of Idaho at the National level.

First, I am a 55 year old man who has worked my whole life. I have owned my own businesses and worked in industry for over 35 years, as an individual contributor up to Directing large operations for private companies in organizations of over 150 people and controlling revenue streams of over 250 million dollars, and as a business owner.

I tell you this to let you know that I know how to manage money, how to make and achieve a budget, and how to control costs.

The current debt ceiling crisis is manufactured. Our nation takes in more than enough to meet our obligations and our essential needs. This is clear. Individuals trying to indicate that we are in danger of defaulting, or not meeting essential needs are either woefully ignorant of our economic situation, or purposely fearmongering so they can pursue their own personal or ideological agendas.

Well, I have had enough. I'm sick and tired of seeing my country so blatantly manipulated. I believe most others feel the same.

I am contacting you as one of your constituents, and one of your many “bosses.” We hire you through the ballot box. My vote for you in years past has hinged on a relative few fundamental principles:

  1. Fundamental moral principle (meaning the right to life endowed on us by our Creator, fundamental moral principles regarindg marriage, our gender, and God-given principles of behavior).
  2. National Security (militarily, economically, energy, and our sovereignty…including our borders)
  3. The second Amendment enumerating citizen’s right to keep and bear arms principally as a final defense against tyranny…from without or within.
  4. Government that governs least, governs best where the people make free will choices.

I watch to see who gets all four correct and know that if I can trust them there, it is likely that I will be okay elsewhere. And if not, the next election is coming.

My vote for you in the future will hinge on your actions with respect to these budgetary, economic issues.

It is no longer a time for compromise of any sort. Economically we are on a precipice and must turn around before we are dashed on the rocks. The very people most responsible for putting us here are determined to drive us off the cliff. I believe many of them are doing it with a will to “fundamentally” change our nation.

Do no flinch are give in to their tactics. We know what is right:

  1. Do not borrow more than you can repay within a reasonable and economically sound time frame. Do not borrow any more. DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING.
  2. Stop spending our money on unwarranted and damaging programs. Do not give it to foreign nations or potential belligerents. Do not fund ludicrous research into the mating habits of snails, or whether a species in a sub-habitat may become extinct there when they flourish elsewhere. Do not give it to special interests who buy influence, stop funding the endowment of the arts, stop funding national public radio. The list could go on and on. CUT THEM NOW! CUT SPENDING DRASTICALLY.
  3. CAP sending at a modest rate of GDP. No more, unless out and out war or national disaster befalls us...not including when some special interest does not get what they want.
  4. BALANCE THE BUDGET! Give us a balanced budget or we will find those who will. PASS THE BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT.
  5. Reform the tax laws. Make it 10% for everyone. No matter what the source. No loop holes. We would cut a huge expense in maintaining the current monstrosity and agency costs do so, and we would bring in more money than we currently do.

Again, these things are straight forward and they are things we expect our politicians to not only hang their hats on, but to not compromise on. Hold up business rather than ruin it for the future.

Finally…a simple suggestion. Pass the following and destroy the progressive, liberal, socialist element that has been trying to destroy our constitutional republic for the last 100 years.

THE US WELFARE REFORM ACT OF 2012
Any person receiving social welfare (not including social security or medicare) as a primary source of their means of living (a primary source being defined as anything over 25% of their total income), shall, for the duration that they receive such government largess, not be allowed to vote in any local, state, or federal election. Eliminating this basic conflict of interest, which enemies of this Republic use to demean and entrap entire segments of our population, will reform welfare and politics in this country for the good of the nation and her people.
Our founders understood human nature. That’s why the vote was only originally given to property owners, because they were the ones the government of that day had to fund the government and they wanted to make sure that the people only voted for what was necessary by those who were funding it. Make it so today and our nation will reform faster than anyone ever thought possible.

Sincerely,

Jeff Head

The law he proposes is not a poll tax; it merely requires that voters be, for the most part, self-supporting.

I wouldn’t have a problem with raising the debt ceiling, if Boehner was actually serious about making cuts. Even though LAURA-INGRAHAM-SAYS-WE-MUST-PASS-IT-NOW-OR-WE’RE-DOOOOOOOOOOMED, the bill does not cut anywhere near enough to prevent a downgrade.

All Boehner has to do is re-submit the bill with $4T in cuts, instead of $900B, and I’m with him all the way.

I’d prefere a flat rate of 15%, individual and corporate, excluding SS and Medicare payroll. We will need to PAY DOWN DEBT, as well as fund the basic, constitutional functions of government. Once we’ve paid down most of our debt, we can then cut the rates some more.

Let those supporting the debt ceiling increase... pay for it.

When only 20% of the population is paying the bills, they should have 5x the vote... but we don’t.

And since we don’t, the debt will go up... and I’ll be forced to pay more and more, getting less and less.

That’s why I stopped. I don’t see this ending up any different then the fate of the USSR

GREAT letter!

(and Michelle Bachmann recently made a similar point, about taxpaying and voting. there SHOULD be a linkage somehow.)

i especially liked:

“It is no longer a time for compromise of any sort.”
“ DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING. “

My represrntative, Steve Southerland, FL.2, attends a prayer session every Monday night when he is in DC. There are many others who attend....they have a special room, like a chapel.

Please God, stand with them and make them strong.

You forgot to tell them to that by backing off Agenda 21 we won’t be able to stop the growth of American industry.

Hey, hey! I say let everyone cast their vote.

However, if you bring your tax return showing money paid to the IRS in positive amounts, your vote goes in the box that gets counted.

Whoa—my handle on the email spooked me a little. Thanks very much for the info, though—I’m planning to send it shortly.

Jeff, I agreed with just about everything you wrote, including the above.

But you know as well as I that even if this passed the Congress, it would not withstand a “Constitutional test” before the Supreme Court. The 14th amendment guarantees “equal protection”, and passing such a law as yours above is a blatant attempt to “un-equalize” protection (in this case, the right to vote). It would probably lose 9-0.

Why not introduce that as an out-and-out Constitutional amendment, instead?

Just sayin’....
