A shocking video has been released allegedly showing police officers tasering and beating a homeless man to death who they claim was resisting arrest. Though the video is not clear, eye witnesses say the homeless man - Kelly Thomas, 37 - was unable to put up any resistance and was lying on the ground on his front when the attack took place on July 5. His screams and cries for his father can be heard amid the tasering noises.

He said he now feels ashamed for having ever been a law enforcement officer.
The video is sickening. Since it's obvious to everyone watching they are killing the guy.
He’s white so there’s no story here, the media will ignore it...
Pity the men that would beat my son to death like that. If those cops have kids...

Apparently they’ve run out of dogs to shoot.
Here we go with another, “The cops are all bad and poor man is totally innocent. Let’s get rid of cops.” rant. Please, spare us. The small word, “resisted” is so underplayed here that we know better than to fall for this left-wing (or is it right-wing?) ploy. The previous assault with a deadly weapon charge is also ignored.
What is sickening is that this junk gets an audience.
Maybe they thought he was a dog?
Fullerton, CA. Orange County.
Even if the man were on PCP, there is no reason for him to be beaten like that.
the media DID ignore this. i’ve only seen it in British papers. (sadly, an increasingly common pattern).
as for revenge, it won’t bring his son back.
...but what bothers me, is what about all the times when there’s no video?
(or, the video “disappears”, like from ALL the cameras in COSTCO, when police murdered the West Point grad.)
...you know, like all those other isolated incidents we keep reading about...
Are we living in Iran? I saw the video of this beating and it made me sick. The witnesses were telling them to stop because the victim was not resisting so the thugs threatened them and kept on with the murder. Murdered that young man right in front of alot of witnesses. The officers had no concern about being filmed murdering someone on the street right in front of probably 30-40 witnesses.
It was a racial thing or it would be called that if it were white officers brazenly murdering a black or brown man like that on the street.
This is just heart wrenching. I can’t stand to look at the video. Hard to imagine they’d have to resort to this type of violence to subdue him. Sounds like Las Vegas PD tactics (Erik Scott) being employed in Fullerton.
Thugs hiding behind badges.
the guy is dead, he didn’t take a beating and live. he died.
and you try to justify a killing? wow.
I just thought that we have been warning good police officers that either they stand up for the rule of law and the constitution or they are going to end up victims of what they are allowing to happen. Here’s one. So sad.
Gee if someone has tasered me 5 times and is beating me to death...yeah I might just resist and try and get away.
Wholly sh8t...you see those pictures...that is not use of force to subdue.
They didn’t beat him into an inch of his death. They beat him to his death.
Ahh so you’re ok with 6 cops beating a man to death. I can see you’re all about freedom and what this country stands for.
There are still agencies out there that are not training their officers to deal with the mentally ill as it appears this man was.
There are also agencies who are not training their officers to work in two officer teams to affect a proper taser takedown. This entails the second officer to move into position and start the handcuffing as soon as the charge is over or even while it’s going on. It’s tricky though, you get your hands between those probes and you are going to get shocked yourself.
One problem with Tasers is that when the juice is off, it’s off and the fight is back on. And when you are dealing with someone who is mentally ill, they will fight until they collapse and they will not listen to commands to stop fighting.
One of the worst resistings I had was with an autistic teenager, and that was before tasers. He fought throught OC and was throwing two hundred pound officers off him like it was nothing. Took eight officers to finally hold him down. He was about 5’9 and 160 lbs.
I strongly suspect this guy punched some of the officers during the arrest...
I won’t watch the video but I trust everyone I’ve heard or read discussing it. As the father, who ironically used to teach cops take-down techniques for perps, said, 6 or more big officers with all those weapons and accoutrements at their disposal should have been able to take down one schizophrenic 135 lb guy without beating him to death.
This was unjustified gross violence, basically murder.
