New Boehner Version (Cut Cap and Balance it ain't)
NRO ^ | 7/27/11 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 07/27/2011 3:19:03 PM PDT by hatfieldmccoy

We’re hearing it now cuts $917 billion over ten years under the more recent CBO baseline. So under $1 trillion. On the other hand, the cuts are apparently more front-loaded: $20 billion in real cuts in the first year.

Like, go back to the 60's dude.

Or get together with a couple real conservatives and finish your 12-step hippie recovery SOON. Like "now".

Boehner caved; and yet in such a way the GOP will get the blame.

Kick him out as leader then primary his sorry weeping ass.

So, now we’ll find out that the “$22 billion” is actually twenty-five cents, and that even that even that “cut” is from the “projected increases” of the next 500 years.

You couldn't be more wrong, surrender-monkey.

Constitutionally, ALL spending must originate in the House.

Simply refuse to pass or consider ANYTHING else, standing firm on Cut, Cap, & Balance which passed the House, and the Senate tabled.

Call Obama's bluff and LET a lot of the Fed. govt. go to seed.

Most people will never miss it.

Cheers!

"The country cannot survive more of this kind of ‘compromise’.

I'm waiting for the moment that the wing-nuts who run DC have to finally tell all of the freeloaders that "they" are the ones who will now have to compromise...

Independents can embrace true conservative ideas, even stuff like Social Security privatization, but they have to be eased into it, revolutionary type approaches don’t work...which is one reason Obamacare is so unpopular (I am NOT endorsing Obamacare, just pointing out that both leftist and conservative ideas can be framed to appeal to the middle).

We’re driving towards a brick wall at 100 MPH and have to slow down, but the road is icy...so we have to pump the brakes...since we all know what happens when you SLAM the brakes on an icy road!

You think you’re so smart?

Go get a bill passed through Congress and to the President’s desk, then come back and tell us how it went.

Obama believes that the definition of RICH is anyone NOT on welfare.

People with jobs ARE the problem. They ARE NOT PAYING ENOUGH to support the WELFARE state.

WORK HARDER PEOPLE WORK HARDER.

Greetings Michael Barnes:

LOL. You never know what’s in the Washington drinking water. Send what you believe are good people to Washington, and they turn against their District. Two since we’ve been in southern Ohio.

Speaker facing push back from Ohio GOP members, doubt any “compromise” bill will pass the House.

Notice how the US Senate sloths face no heat from the lame stream media for the spending crisis they enabled?

Cheers,
OLA

I agree, and think we should get some cuts in now. We still only have the House, and the Senate is not going to take anything drastic. As much as I would like to cut 1 trillion this year, it wont happen. And if the “Tea Party” freshmen refuse to vote for a bill with cuts in it that will pass the Senate because it is not perfect, then we deserve a bigger government.

Yeah, Rush went into the whole subject of baseline budgeting today.

I knew a little bit about it, but when I heard him explain the numbers, my hair stood straight up.

I don’t know how much longer they think that we can keep going like this.

That brick wall is coming sooner than we think...

You think you’re so smart?

My *dog* is smarter than Congress.

And I don't even have a dog!

Go get a bill passed through Congress and to the President’s desk, then come back and tell us how it went.

Don't have to.

Cut Cap & Balance ALREADY passed the House.

And about 63% of Americans approve of it.

Just go into canned response mode in front of ANY microphone or TV camera.

Then let Reid & Obama stew and cave after the Fed. govt. has been shut down for 90 days or so and nobody but the welfare queens have noticed.

Cheers!

You are pretty much dead on. Sadly there are too many who are in all-or-nothing mode who can’t see that the real battle is 2012, not this. We win big in 2012, we have the ability to get the budget slashed as it should be. We choose to die on this beachhead, Obama coasts to re-election next year and the nation is SCREWED.
