Yeah, of all the things that made those people in the various fields important, whether or not they practiced sodomy was close to the bottom. In fact, yes, writing up a theory of how you could prove that a machine was intelligent or not, plus the binary structure design for transistors was bigger for Alan Turing than his being caught doing some things with some teen boys. Alexander the Great - complicated. Numerous hollywood actors, a lesson of how drugs and unrestrained behavior can really mess up one’s life (examples such as Robert Reed, Freddie Mercury, Roc Hudson, etc.
Transgender was pretty much at one point, the way that some used to punish homosexuality, such as in the case of Alan Turing, why homosexuals don’t consider it offensive to consider getting such an operation is beyond me. But then again, it’s also beyond me that so many are pro-abortion when fewer abortions give them potentially more membership via adoption. Oh the wierd, illogical, political correctness.
As tiny as the movement is, there is no political group as vicious (i.e., those holding opposing views must not just be proven wrong ... their reputations and livelihoods must be destroyed), as so self-confident of their victimhood and as so self-assured (to the point of breathtaking arrogance) of the “morality” of their ideas as are homosexual rights activists and their supporters.
Never heard the album. Would need to go back and review the movie, it was a little before my time.
I have yet to get a leftist to respond to the question
“What is so important to you about normalizing the desire of one man to [insert unvarnished description of sodomy here] another man?”
In the beginning, they whine and pout about being "victims" of discrimination and want "only" to get out of the closet and be treated like everyone else.
Then before you can say "pink powder puff" they're tearing down the culture to make it over into a gay paradise.
Their hatred for traditional culture is virulent and deep-seated.
A major homo goal is to force religions, and religious people, to accept the gay life style; they will destroy anyone who dares suggest homosexuality is wrong.
There’s only one: Wendy Carlos.
So I assume a whole Chapter of these Gay History Books (vomit) will be devoted to Hillary Clinton, who was known as 'the smartest woma lesbian in America'.
And then there's liberal 'mommy's boy' and 'bachelor', Associate Supreme Justice David Souter. I'm suuuure that Teachers could 'speculate' for days on his sexual orientation. And we can't omit Queer As Folk, Rep Bwaney Fwrank whose GAY LOVER ran a Gay Whorehouse from their building. And we can't leave out the Butch on the Supreme Court and the other BUTCH in charge of our nation's security.
Gee now that I see all the QUEERS that have and are shaping our history, there won't be time for silly stuff like Math and Science. Gay History will take half the day.
Thankfully, the sodomy-in-education law is suspended pending a referendum the Pacific Justice Institute and other conservative groups are launching. Let’s hope they’re successful.

Baron von Steuben
One of the few American History figures for which his reputed sexuality has some importance. Specifically in that it’s thought he was discharged from the Prussian Army for being Gay. Thus he ended up in the Continental Army and his expertise in teaching Military Drill during the winter at Valley Forge was a major contribution to the war.
During a High School and certainly college history class. This information adds light about motivations etc. for some of our founders. Why before college you need to know which congressman/sentaor was fond of drag? No idea.
Finally looked him/her up. Yes, I have a copy of Switched-On Bach from the 70s -- who doesn't? Good work. But a major contribution? Hmmm... not really.
Amongst keyboardists, Carlos was a major contribution, trailblazing the idea that the relatively new “synthesizer” could stand on its own as a solo performance, musical instrument. A whole generation of musicians took that idea and ran with it (people like Phillip Glass and Kitaro) and today, solo synthesizer performances are ubiquitous to the music industry.
At the Interlochen Arts Academy we actually devoted several composition classes to Carlos’ work. I don’t know about Julliard but both Bowling Green and North Carolina School of the Arts also studied Carlos in the 80’s.
Had it not been Carlos, someone else would have come along and done the same....but it was Carlos. And it was a major contribution to modern music that can’t be minimized simply because of her mental illness.
Agreed — he was major among instrumentalists.
O.K. So as for the original point — transsexuals who have made a real contribution — that’s one.
