Some people want to fight the wars of the past and ignore the reality of today. When you live in the past the future will come up and smack you in the back of the head. Reality doesn’t care who is right and who is wrong. It only rewards those who are paying attention.
Gaddaffi has been working against US and western interests for decades. He has backed every terrorist group, every insurgency, every cause that can cause trouble. He has never stopped (although he occasionally quietens down when someone slaps him hard) and if he comes out of this crisis on top he will go straight back to doing it. He didn't "save hundreds of US soldiers lives". He couldn't give a toss about American lives. He was fighting in eastern Libya against his traditional tribal enemies, for traditional reasons i.e. power. Did that reduce the effort the muslim brotherhood was putting into Iraq? Maybe, but if he hadnt have been fighting them, he would certainly have been backing Iraq himself, so the question is moot.
The insurgents are NOT all muslim brotherhood, but even if they were, saying you hope Gaddaffi will beat them is a bit like saying you hope Venezuela will beat Cuba it a life and death fight. It doesn't matter who wins, they both hate you anyway.
Well the Brits and France are finally paying attention, they have it figured out and they want OUT, poste haste.
Can’t say as I blame them much, but Obama has his hands on Libyas money, and it is flowing throughthe provisional government, a lot of it designed to go right into the Swiss banks Accounts of some of Obama’s African allies, such as Odinga and his Orange Party.
