A group of atheists has filed a lawsuit to stop the display of the World Trade Center cross at a memorial of the 9/11 terror attacks.

The prohibition of religious expression is also unconstitutional. The no-god folks have a religious belief system, that there is no god, and they are quite positive of their theological viewpoint and try to shut down all those who have a disenting view.
Lately they have become quite intolerant (primarily of Christians, few speak out against Islam and some who do say Christianity is just as violent, if not worse).
They can’t prove there is no God. They have faith in their thing. Of course it’s a religion...
Youd deluded, trusting fool!
All of the people I personally knew who died in the World Trade Center that day were Christian. The cross must stay.
People have faith in many things.
"Religion" is the subset of faith in general, that people have specifically, in God.
Therefore atheism is not itself a religion. Not being a religion, it thus has no authority through the 1st Amendment against any genuine religious activity, as the 1st Amendment has nothing to do with atheism, by definition.
Which means that any suit by an atheist organization that invokes the 1st Amendment should be preemptively dismissed for lack of standing.
The site is controlled by the Port Authority of NY and NJ, which is a govt entity. Not that it matters, as far as I’m concerned. Obviously, the cross must stay.
I bet they don’t have a problem with the mosque though.
They know who God is.
[ A genuine atheist would not be bothered by a cross. Or even the notion of others awareness of the Creator. Liberal drama queens. ]
You mean like an agnostic. Atheists seem to pursue anti-religion with the same sort of zeal used by others to farce religion down other’s throats.
The opposite of Love isn’t Hate, it is indifference. Because Love and Hate are on one side of the scale of passion where as indifference is on the other.
If i could trade every militant atheist in this country for 10 agnostics I would in an instant.
I second that emotion, I am so sick of minority groups overruling the majority.
Screw ‘em.
But I’m sure they have no problem with the Mosque.
I understand that other religous symbols made of parts
of the building will be in the museum, maybe they can
have a puddle of slag as the symbol for the atheists.
Is the 9/11 Memorial a government building or government sponsored in any way (eg, is it fully funded by the government)?
“We should declare Atheism a religion. Then whenever there isnt something erected anywhere we can sue them.”
I believe that has to get the post of the day award.
How do they feel about people building a mosque?
Hmmm...Did they file a lawsuit yet against the individuals who yelled “Allah Akabar” before those planes killed 3000 people? And BTW, if there is no God, then explain to me the source of energy, action and result. Oh that’s right, by chance a non-force knocked over that first domino.
Ties right in with liberals BS explanation of Global warming. Nothing can be responsible for everything - How CO2, a gas that makes up only 0.04% of the earths atmosphere, which you can by the way call “zero point zero”, can equate the power of Venus when it comes to Global warming, which is a planet ruled by global warming solely because of water vapor.
Looks like you’re missing some t’s..I have a couple of hundred spare if you’d like ‘em..
I guess the cowardly, godless bastards don’t have a problem with the muzzie’s 9/11 Victory Mosque though, huh?
hose a heis s wouldn' unders and ~
