“The WTC cross has become a Christian icon,” said Dave Silverman, president of the atheist group. “It has been blessed by so-called holy men and presented as a reminder that their god, who couldn’t be bothered to stop the Muslim terrorists or prevent 3,000 people from being killed in his name, cared only enough to bestow upon us some rubble that resembles a cross. It’s a truly ridiculous assertion.”

Well, then, Sparky, it shouldn’t really matter to you, should it?

Sheesh...

The "government enshrinement of the cross was an impermissible mingling of church and state," the American Atheists say in a press statement.

Now, what could possibly make you say something like that?

Could it be SATAN!

Are these atheist A*holes at least bitching about the Ground Zero Mosque also? Or is it a Christianity thing only? I got money on the latter.

If ther ewere any real leaders out there anymore, they would tell these people to shut their pie-holes and deal with it. They want nothing more than to destroy other peoples lives with their meaningless tripe because their lives are empty.

My daughter explained to me that the next time some nerdy liberal teen asks her, she’ll answer, “Yah, I’m, like, an atheist. But I don’t practice.”

So what precisely, do you suppose, were Mo Atta et al.’s attacks against the WTC, the Pentagon and whichever building United 93 was headed for? What a shame that lawsuits couldn’t have stopped those.

Does the federal government own the property? Does any government own the property? If not, there’s no violation of the First Amendment (just like in the old days, when all over the U.S. city halls and county courthouses displayed creches at Christmas).

I agree, these do-it-my-way atheists can go straight to the hell they don’t believe in. That’s where they’re headed anyway IMHO.

And no, I’m not judging them, I don’t have the power. It is my opinion.

Is the World Trade Center a gov’t bldg. or on gov’t property? If it isn’t, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. If it is, he still doesn’t have a leg to stand on, as there is no such thing as “separation of church & state”.

"A memorial does not establish a state religion! "

Correcto mundo! AND, a memorial is NOT Congress!!!

Not only will the Cross remain (Dawkinists are easily pwned), but a group of clever people could petition to have every skyscraper in Manhattan display the Cross in building lighting on the night of 9/11/11.

I wonder how they'd like it if we organized a campaign to file a nuisance lawsuit a day against them for violating our right to religious freedom? Why should neo-commies and athiests think they're the only ones who have a "right" not to be offended? Somebody should make a full time project of these maggots.

Anybody can file nuisance lawsuits, they need to learn that the hard way. While we're at it, let's put a death watch on Fred Phelps and his ugly family of goons, just to celebrate at the funeral when one of them croaks.

OK, it's the heat, I guess. This stuff is just pissing me off so much I'm starting to feel real mean about it.
