INDIANAPOLIS -- A nonprofit group has erected a billboard aimed at NASCAR fans visiting Indianapolis for the Brickyard 400 this weekend, with a message that the hot dogs they are eating aren't good for them.

The billboard depicts hot dogs as though they are in a pack of cigarettes that has a skull and crossbones on it.

"Warning: Hot dogs can wreck your health," the billboard chides NASCAR attendees.

The billboard was purchased by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. The group said more than 1.1 million hotdogs were served in the concession stands at the Indianapolis 500 last year.

If they had served 1.1 million salads at the Indy 500, how many deaths from e coli would have occurred?

I’ll take slow death by hot dog.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

I don't want 'Responsible Medicine'. That's likely to be the Nanny-state Food-Nazi Anti-Gun form of medicine I deplore.

I want my doctor to be part of the Physicians Committee for EFFECTIVE Medicine.

Every person who eats hotdogs will eventually die.

So, you gonna enjoy life or try to prolong a dull and dreary life eating the “correct” foods?

If a bunch of epidemiologist tell me somethings green it will most likely be purple. I’ve yet to meet one that didn’t have an agenda. They don’t believe in the scientific method they just know.

But wait. There’s more.

Obama EPA SAYS: DON’T DRINK WATER FROM YOUR HOME!!!!

25 July 2011 | 6:48 AM

Danger of copper pipes.....what lies beneath your sink?
Copper, a mineral that our body needs but also a culprit behind many health issues, has become increasingly a concern for those who have plumbing pipes made from this material. According to the EPA, the acceptable amount of copper consumption via water is 1,300 parts per billion, the lowest adverse health level for consumption. As copper piping ages, the risk of it leaching into our water becomes greater. Newer homes face another problem; the coating inside pipes that naturally assists in alleviating (to some degree) copper in our water hasn’t yet formed and therefore presents a greater opportunity of being present in drinking water. If copper begins to leach into your drinking water various signs/symptoms are more than likely to occur, followed by long term effects to your health.

Symptoms caused by excessive copper can include: Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea. Emotional distress (fight/flight syndrome), ADHD, mood swings, headaches

Wilson’s disease. I’m a big House fan and they did an episode of a crazy woman with that condition. Do they know how rare that condition is, and how much copper it takes to do that to a person??

When I built my home I specified copper on all pressure lines, and I specified the grade to be used on the quote. Man was my plumber pissed when he had to replace all his work from the first day when I checked the grade and it was the thin-wall light cheap stuff he was using. I’ll take copper over plastic any day of the week, thank you very much.

lol. Then I'm screwed. I've been drinking from copper water lines for over 10 years. (maybe it's the whiskey that's keeping me alive right now. haha.)

To: Abathar; All

The Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine is a sub group of PETA. Most of the members aren’t doctors. They, like PETA, want to end ALL use of animals for eating, wearing, research, pets, on and on.

The writer should have described them as an animal rights organization, not a “non profit group.” Sheeeesh.

Copper, a mineral that our body needs but also a culprit behind many health issues,

Copper is a metal, not a mineral. If they can't even get *that* right....

I want them to prove to me it isn't from the mustard packets...

They have done research on mustard packets, yet. That will take another government grant. About $100 mil ought to do it.
