If the media breaks against him the polls drop from the 40’s to 20’s.... the press must be sucking eggs behind the scenes now on how to keep up the phony impression this guy is the new Reagan! Bwahaahhhaaaaa!

Right!!

Don’t forget the other drawback of unemployment.

For people who are used to supporting themselves and who do not like the idea of being idle, there is certainly emotional and psychological anxiety associated with unemployment. This is an uncomfortable and personally challenging time. Once gainfully employed again, this person can recover and regain his/her wholesome emotional equilibrium. Their character is not permanently marred by the experience.

But, if you are talking about the 3rd or 4th generation individual who has known ONLY government support…then that is different. The idea or work is alien!! When you look in this person’s eyes (try this once) you will see a spirit that is irreversibly stunted, permanently and fatally blasted. They suffer the unending and unwholesome condition of being ‘kept’ by the state. I wouldn’t wish this on a dog.

That’s been the Dems’ MO for years, copying the Romans’ “Bread and Circus” approach to maintaining their plutocracy.

Certainly there are plenty of plans, including Senator McConnell’s plan, the famous “Gang of Six” plan, the “Cut, Cap and Balance” Act passed by the House, and even a joint Senator McConnell-Senator Reid plan.

Let's not forget the Ryan Plan, passed by the House and rejected by the Senate.

Very good analysis... You have articulated the situation very, very well. You really hit the nail with this one...

“Obama’s leadership style is to appear to be above the fray thus insulating him from failure so he can blame someone else and taking credit when things go well.”

BZ Thanks

"He’s butted up against the Tea Party Republicans and others in Congress who see clearly what they’re up against with him; and they’re not likely to back down."

With what they/we know now, the Republicans can't back down. It would be criminal. They know that they can't trust him with a dollar. They know he has been blatantly lying and they know that he is merely campaigning and hoping the media will follow his lead and blame the Republicans for what he has done to squeeze the life out of the U.S. economy.

He nattered about how all that stimulus money was going to go to “infrastructure, roads, bridges, shovel ready jobs, stuff like that”. What happened to it? Down the old Union Rabbit Hole laundry, I suppose. No accountability.
