Breivik was understood to have met leaders of the EDL in March last year when he came to London for the visit of Geert Wilders, the Dutch Right-wing politician. Daryl Hobson, who organises EDL demonstrations, said Breivik, who told police there were two more cells ready to follow him, had met members of the group.
Another senior member of the EDL said Breivik had been in regular contact with its members via Facebook, and had a hypnotic effect on them.
Scotland Yard was investigating Breiviks claims that he began his deadly crusade after being recruited to a secret society in London, and that he was guided by an English mentor. David Cameron, who was being kept updated on developments, said Breiviks claims were being taken extremely seriously.
Breivik wrote of having strong links with the EDL, saying he had met its leaders and had 600 EDL members as Facebook friends.
Mr Hobson said in an online posting that: He had about 150 EDL on his list
bar one or two doubt the rest of us ever met him, altho [sic] he did come over for one of our demo [sic] in 2010
but what he did was wrong. RIP to all who died as a result of his actions.

I’m an EDL fan on Facebook. I agree with you 100%.
Expect criminalization of any talk not in line with the multiculturalists prattle. They were dangerously close to that anyway.
Another odd fact. On June 24 Norway banned Sharia courts. Why would the killer massacre so many children of the elite when the country was already heading the way he wanted it too?
Last odd tidbit. A convincing case can be made that the United States and Europe were tricked into the War against Serbia by a Moslem massacre of their own people. Deceit is integral to the Koran and that scam worked out pretty good for their side. It all boils down to one question. Could this latest act of terror be just be an another act of deception designed to discredit anti-islamic activists?
Breivik was very much anti-Nazi as well, and very pro-Israel.
I’m sure that page must be interesting. What does everyone do, share streetfighting tips? Prison pruno recipes?
Pretty much reading what constitutes conservative thought over this atrocity I think being against multi-culturalism is wrong headed, conservatives should worry about tax cuts and winning in AfPak instead. We keep pressing on side issues like multiculti it will only drive away the women’s vote by appearing mean. I say open the borders let the chips fall where they may except securing tax cuts and AfPak (which we need to triple our forces and expenditures on).
Isn't time for you to face east and raise your butt in the air?
I’m not quite willing to cede all of western civilization and our cherished liberties yet. I don’t care how many murdering lunatics kill in its name.
An 11 year sleeper troll. Unbelievable.
Best projectiles to throw at opponents of your soccer team? The benefits of a studded baton over a blackjack? Drug preparation tips?
Let’s see you back up your smart ass remarks.
How to beat an assault charge? Best way to rush a police barricade?
Dhimmi.
Well, I guess they could learn to like being gang raped.
Voting is FUN!!! Rock The Vote!!!
I’ve also observed that a lot of them appear to be latent homosexuals.
Interesting.
In '95, McVeigh's (and AbuSayeff's ) bombing in OK City happened when the hearings had been scheduled into BATF and FBI excesses at Ruby Ridge and Waco, and there was gathering support for a repeal of the AWB in Congress and at the grass roots. The 'militia movement' was flourishing.
IOW, the timing couldn't have been worse for such an event that the media could use against those who objected to the Clintons' excesses and their Administration trashing the Constitution.
Suddenly, conservatives were on the defensive, distancing themselves from the bombing and the idealogical meme that led to all of us 'bitter clingers' being branded as a likely pool for 'homegrown terrorism' by the likes of the SPLC.
Of course, pushing the meme takes the heat off of a very real and pervasive threat by removing those who object to current policy or placing them on the defensive.
Debate could be dismissed as 'dangerous' or 'crackpot'.
Takes one to know one?
No, I don’t even have a Facebook account. Is that where they troll for encounters?
Quite true. Those folks who only listen to Glenn Beck, of course, wouldn't know those uncomfortable facts. He is also very neo-conish in his approach to religion e.g. a Christian culture is good for the benefit of maintaining a unitary culture but, of course, all that stuff is nonsense.
