Accusing House Republicans of walking away from deficit negotiations “after insisting that the budget be balanced on the backs of seniors and the middle class,” White House press secretary Jay Carney issued a statement embracing the deficit reduction approach of Harry Reid, D-Nev., which he calls “a responsible compromise that cuts spending in a way that protects critical investments and does not harm the economic recovery.”
Earlier today President Obama spoke to the National Council of La Raza saying “we can’t just close our deficits by cutting spending. … Not only is it not fair if all of this is done on the backs of middle-class families and poor families, it doesn’t make sense. It may sound good to save a lot of money over the next five years, but not if we sacrifice our future for the next fifty.”
The Reid plan contains no tax increases.

Well then, sent to the Senate to have a vote, then pass the House. There’s no need for Obama to announce WH endorsed A plan.
Unless they know in advance the Reid plan won’t even pass Senate, then Obama can blame the GOP pre-emptively.

One said “Why Republicans should say yes”, the other one, I can’t quite recall.
I’d like to see Republicans with two posters in rebuttal.
The first can say “Why Republicans should say no”
The second one “Why Republicans should say HELL no!”

Why is Reid making a plan I thought it comes from the House then goes to senate for a yes or no vote am I wrong?
The $2 Trillion in Reid’s plan is mostly fake cuts and fake future savings. The $2+ ceiling hike would get Obama past the election. Reid does admit even the Senate Democrats see a tax raise is not going to sail.
The House & Boehner already offered $1.2 T in savings that were real and $1 T in the ceiling hike and Obama rejected it as he doesn’t want to come back for another ceiling hike pre-election.
Obama will lie tonight and say he has been open to plans, but the Republicans are the bad guys. Huge lie.

At his presser today...House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said Senator Reid’s proposal was “full of gimmicks.”

I did not like La Raza then...I did not like it when the Texas Governor spoke to them last year, pandering for votes...I do not like it now.
La Raza, IMHO, are internal enemies to this nation. ythey want to deconstruct the soverign states of the Union.
Any politician who in any way panders to them, IMHO is on very, very thin ice.
Maybe Boehner should remind the nation tonight that with a budget, this means nothing.
