I agree it is correct to leave non-declared candidates off the straw poll, it also renders the straw poll practically meaningless. It’s sort of like having a home run contest without two of the top sluggers.
Oh, how exciting!!!!!!
/s
From the link it reads like Bachmann’s committee worked to keep rising, unannounced candidates out.
CW..day before the poll, after the FOX debate..we need a thread..GUESS the exact oder of finish..tie breakers will be guessing the actual % each candidate recieves without going over..
Apparently, exclusion was based on individuals not on a criteria.
Can they have a write-in candidate. Can they spell
Palin?
I nominate you to do the honors!
McCotter is not a declared candidate though, is he?
RP’s Area 51 caucus will surely be there. Also, a few “Comet jockies” will whoop it up with the Treckies.
Didn't he announce over the Fourth of July weekend?
McCotter declared on July 2. He’s going to surprise some people. The August 11 Iowa Caucuses debate will get his name out there in a huury!

OK..send me a FReepmail the day before tor emind me...(g)
* Ron Paul (will have a tin foil tent at the event)
Paul spent some $31,000 for his location on the grounds at the bidding process. The next highest was at $18,000. I think tickets are $30 each to get in and have the right to vote in the straw poll. Paul will spend a few thousand more on tickets to give to supporters. You must be 18 years old by election day November 2012 and a resident of Iowa in order to vote in the straw poll.
>>>>.......However, not being on the ballot is not necessarily a loss for Perry, whose supporters have formed a 527 that had hoped to make a push for him at Ames, but was told they couldn’t buy space.<<<<

I live near Ames. So, they literally are coming to town.
As a former member of RPI’s state central committee, I know from experience that this is a circus.
So, whatever.
LOL! Cain has a better chance of winning than he does.
2008, here we come!
