I lived in Sweden for a number of years, and didn't realize the library also shut down. I mean, you'd think someone would assume that with everyone on vacation, people might want to read, right? I was so shocked I didn't know what to do, because all I do is read. I had to borrow English language books from my friends to keep my sanity, but it was almost all stuff I had read in high school and didn't really want to read for fun.
They definitely take their vacations seriously. I had a doctor friend who worked in the ER, and he warned not to get sick during the summer because you just might not get a doctor.
“They definitely take their vacations seriously.” Well, that’s ONE Scandinavian trait I wouldn’t mind us copying.
Haven’t heard from Western Culture on this.
Western Culture, what do you think of the recent tragedy in Oslo and the events surrounding it?
