Yes, very sad indeed. 11 deaths and 89 injured.

In a way, the scrutiny that will follow (both domestically and internationally) will strengthen safety standards in China. This happened in aviation, where China had some of the worse safety records and now one of the best.

And many may not realize that the worse high speed rail disaster occured in Germany where 101 people died.
