They’re probably right that he’s a Christian in some sense, but where are they getting the fundamentalist part? He doesn’t sound like a fundamentalist in the writings I’ve seen posted.

There's gotta' be some sort of ideomatic expression in Scandinavia for people who do not adhere to the Lutheran state church.

That doesn't actually translate as "Fundamentalist" since that is either a very broad term not meaning anything in particular ~ e.g. as in "The Pope is fundamentally a Christian", or a very narrow term that can mean a member of a small number of Biblical textual absolutists (who think the Bible was written by God Himself).

If the cops in Norway actually used "fundamentalist" they did so in a sense not generally recognized in English nor handled well by Google
