There's gotta' be some sort of ideomatic expression in Scandinavia for people who do not adhere to the Lutheran state church.

That doesn't actually translate as "Fundamentalist" since that is either a very broad term not meaning anything in particular ~ e.g. as in "The Pope is fundamentally a Christian", or a very narrow term that can mean a member of a small number of Biblical textual absolutists (who think the Bible was written by God Himself).

If the cops in Norway actually used "fundamentalist" they did so in a sense not generally recognized in English nor handled well by Google

Yeah, whatever they’re translating as fundamentalist doesn’t seem to mean quite the same thing we’re use to.
