A distraught young woman called (Democrat) Oregon Rep. David Wu's Portland office this spring, accusing him of an unwanted sexual encounter, according to multiple sources.
When confronted, Wu acknowledged a sexual encounter to his senior aides but insisted it was consensual, the sources said.
The woman is the daughter of a longtime friend and campaign donor. She apparently did not contact police at the time.
One person who heard the voice mail described the woman as upset, breathing heavily and "distraught."
In the voice mail, the young woman accused Wu of aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior, according to sources with direct knowledge of the message and its contents.
Reporters could not verify the young woman's age. Notes on Facebook over the last 18 months indicate she graduated from high school in 2010. California records show she registered to vote last August.
Wu, 56, has not responded to repeated questions from The Oregonian over the last four days.
Mid-day Friday, a reporter emailed Wu's spokesman, Erik Dorey, with this question: "Is Rep. David Wu denying that he had sexual contact with the daughter of a high school friend over Thanksgiving 2010 in Orange County, California? Yes or no?"
Dorey responded by asking for more time to answer the question. Neither Dorey nor anyone else in Wu's office had responded by Friday evening.
I guess ‘Rep.’ is supposed to be interpreted as ‘Republican’, since it is spelled out as ‘Representative’ nowhere in the story? :)
Wanna see Mr Wu’s hog?
Typically, no mention of the “party affiliation” in the article itself?
We know what it is, then.
So now I guess that the rats in the US House of Representatives will all wear that button that says “We stand with the LADY!” to support the victim, RIGHT???
Hahahaha! I kill me!
Did David try to Wu this young lady?
Did David try to Wu this young lady?
Was he wearing his tiger suit?
If she graduated in 2010 from high school, then she is 18 years old now.
Which means he is three times as old as she is.
Sick SOB.
You beat me to the punch....line.
Wu married Michelle Maxine Wu in 1996 and they have two children. In December 2009, he filed for separation from his wife, citing irreconcilable differences.
Three weeks prior to the 2004 elections, The Oregonian published an article reporting that Wu had been accused of sexually assaulting an ex-girlfriend while attending Stanford. Criminal charges were never filed, but the story prompted Wu to hold a press conference apologizing for "inexcusable behavior".
In February 2011, Willamette Week and later The Oregonian reported that in the runup to the November 2010 election, Wu began behaving erratically and that staffers "demanded he enter a hospital for psychiatric treatment." The erratic behavior that triggered the staff's departure was reported to be no single incident but rather a pattern of behavior that included Wu's emailing his staff photos of himself in a tiger suit.
By less than a minute. GMTA.

- Have you seen him?
- Who?
- Wu.
- Why?
- Whoa.
- Wu?
- Woo-hoo!
- Whoa!
Democrats have been wanting to get rid of this guy because he’s so vulnerable. Maybe this will be the nail in his coffin.
This is a D+8 district, so it will be tough for a Republican. Wu’s going to get a primary challenge. So far, the following have filed to run.
Pavel Goberman-R
Stephen A Brodhead-R
Brad Avakian-D
Brad Witt-D
No mention of party in title, subtitle, first sentence, or first paragraph...therefore its a democrat.
You are just plain Wong!
Wu could not have done this, because he’s a ‘Rat. And if he had done it, well, it was her fault anyway, because...he’s a ‘Rat. All ‘Rats receive get out jail free cards, because...they are ‘Rats.
That’s odd, I haven’t seen this reported in my local (Sarasota) newspaper, which is owned by the NY Slimes. s/ off.
