Congress voted on repeal in December or January. Remember Sen. Toomey of PA was a big gay backer and deceived some of his original suppoerters.
It must have pissed me off so completely that I blocked it from memory.
The repeal of DADT (which would go into effect when DoD and the president certified that it wouldn’t harm the military, which Panetta and Obama just did) passed both houses in December 2010 and signed into law on December 22. Toomey did not become a Senator until January 2011. While his words of support for repeal certainly did not help our cause, it’s a bit of a stretch to blame Toomey for the repeal when it happened before he even got to the Senate.
