The repeal of DADT (which would go into effect when DoD and the president certified that it wouldn’t harm the military, which Panetta and Obama just did) passed both houses in December 2010 and signed into law on December 22. Toomey did not become a Senator until January 2011. While his words of support for repeal certainly did not help our cause, it’s a bit of a stretch to blame Toomey for the repeal when it happened before he even got to the Senate.

What the queers don’t get is that DODT was for their own safety. Open queers in the military will lead to more friendly fire deaths, because the majority of military won’t trust them at all.
They have a sometimes Conservative posture, sometimes Libertarian agenda. Sometimes for religious conscience, sometimes against it. Nothing consistent or coherent.

Most young people in the military don’t really seem to care one way or another. Those of us that do just grumble under our breaths. For now it seems a live and let live in regards to differing viewpoints.
Amendments can be repealed.

Biblically-based counselors are the only ones that hold that homosexuality is a sin; thus a mental disorder.

If the point is that homosexuals are less tough, I know some folks who might be able to alter your thinking on the subject.
I understand the belief that gays shouldn’t be in the military (even though I disagree. They have the same right to fight for their country as heterosexuals), but when you call them out as being less tough than you are, you are trying to assert your own “manliness”, which brings your manliness into question.
We are in the last days of the American Empire. The economy is in ruins, immorality and amorality are rampant, the borders are porous, and all the politicians and media do is think of more ways to speed up America’s decline.

This is one of the most horrible things to happen in the history of the country. Don’t be intimidated from telling the truth about the homosexual agenda because you are afraid of being “on the wrong side of history.” Tens of millions of people know or suspect this is a huge mistake.

First of all I don’t think Sarah will do this. It requires expenditure of political capital - I don’t think this is a big issue to her. However, if congress keeps the UCMJ from being changed, it would be much easier to restore the restrictions on homosexual conduct in the military. Then she, or another conservative if elected, would be more likely to have the boldness to set things right.
Personally, although I am a reserve member of the military, I don’t think what “we” think is important; most military personnel aren’t that morally aware (heterosexual fornication and adultury are quite common and quite a disciplinary problem). What is important is doing the right thing. The “right” thing is to keep open homosexual conduct out of the military. Then go after the heterosexual misconduct to improve discipline.
Unfortunately, I think you are exactly right. What many of these political-homosexual-agenda-pushers don’t realize is that DADT actually provided protection for homosexuals. Now, NCO’s will find other means of druming out homosexuals.
I served on a submarine, and if a newbie got to the boat and his chief didn’t trust him or like him for ANY reason, the pressure was applied and the person either cracked or ran or both. There are MANY ways to make a person’s life miserable and yet remain within the official legal guidelines of the UCMJ.
Well “man overboard” searches are likely to increase ten-fold, if what my sailor friends tell me is true.
I made no comment on the toughness of gays as I see no weakness in them due to their orientation. My point was that they may or will not be received well within the rank and file with their openess and possibly be targeted or setup by those that disagree with their lifestyle. I personally have not been in the military but have worked with the services overseas and there was a quiet yet shall I say dicriminatory attitude toward them.
As for the crack about my manliness, I won’t even stoop to that level. All I know is those that want to test it do so at their own risk.
