I am so surprised that to date there have not been horrific reprisals...mosque burnings, and worse. I fear it is coming...and world wide where these atrocities are happening.

You're kidding right? In Putin's Russia, perhaps, but the European Parliament is probably right now in an emergency meeting discussing what further accomodations they need to make to avoid such future misunderstandings with their muslim guests.
It is IMHO likely that Norwegian conservatives and immigration opponents will receive more blame for this than the actual trigger pullers.
