Important Senate Vote Today
Jim DeMint <info@senateconservatives.com> ^ | July 22, 2011 | Jim DeMint United States Senator

Posted on 07/22/2011 5:45:14 AM PDT by Old Badger

Fellow Conservatives:

The Senate will vote TODAY at 10:00 AM Eastern on the "Cut-Cap-Balance" legislation that we have been working so hard to advance.

Please call the Democrat senators listed below right now to urge them to vote for this important legislation. This is extremely important and I hope you will make at least one phone call right now.

You don't need to be from the senator's state. Their vote affects you just the same. We need to generate as many calls as we can from people all over the country. These senators need to know that you're going to work to defeat them in their next election if they vote against this bill........ It will prevent us from defaulting on our debt obligations, protect our AAA credit rating, and ensure that we don't ever have to raise the debt limit again.........A vote against this plan is a vote to bankrupt America.

Here are the Democrats who need to hear from you as soon as possible. Each of these senators voted in favor of a non-binding resolution earlier this year supporting the Balanced Budget Amendment. We will find out today if they were serious. Mark Begich (D-AK) -- (202) 224-3004 Michael Bennet (D-CO) -- (202) 224-5852 Sherrod Brown (D-OH) -- (202) 224-2315 Tom Carper (D-DE) -- (202) 224-2441 Joe Manchin (D-WV) -- (202) 224-3954 Claire McCaskill (D-MO) -- (202) 224-6154 Bill Nelson (D-FL) -- (202) 224-5274 Ben Nelson (D-NE) -- (202) 224-6551 Mark Udall (D-CO) -- (202) 224-5941 Thank you for continuing to stay engaged in this important battle for our nation's future. Please help us keep the pressure on.

Respectfully,

Jim DeMint United States Senator Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund

It’s 8:31 in D.C. right now. Is that too early to call?

Both of my Senators are Texas Pubbies, so, I called Sen. Joe Manchin's (D-WV) office. A live body answered right away. I was on hold for 4 1/2 minutes. I told the young lady I was calling to ask Sen. Manchin to vote for "Cut, Cap and Balance" and she said: "Yessir, I'll pass that right along to the Senator. Callers must be flooding the phone lines. CALL FOLKS CALL!

I lambasted Chambliss, my Senator, I got back a form letter with a bunch of lies about cutting spending, etc. No mention of $1 Trillion in new taxes (removing deductions, etc.)....I am never going to vote for him again, even in the most dire circumstance - I’ll vote for a damned Democrat first.

I would be literally stunned if the Senate voted for CCB!!! But....one never knows. But.....even if we lose, every Senator that voted nay will be on record to be defeated in November, 2012, or....the next time they are up for re-election!!! Of course, would love to see the bill pass the Senate and sent to Obama to veto!!!

I moved to Mississippi from West Va in March. I called Joe Manchin's office and it was answered immediately. I told her it was important that he vote for the bill, and she said "I'll pass that on..."

Joe could almost be a Pubbie, but he has too many union connections to change sides. But the Pubbies are gaining...

I also called both R-MS Senators offices in DC and both said their Senators are supporting the bill, but thanked me for calling.

IT'S NOT TOO EARLY TO CALL DC!

Joe Manchin needs to switch Parties. We need a majority in both houses. I have no hope that the folks of WV will ever vote him out.

I called both Webb and Warner in VA - and Manchin, WV Corker and Alexander (mine in TN).

Since Reid just wants a vote to “table” the bill - I just suggested that they allow it to go to the floor for debate and then I mentioned the recent CNN poll - 66% of American’s want a balanced budget.

Give it a chance.

All staff was very nice.

Since they have the cover that it's going down to defeat anyway, the ploy for the Rinos will be they see it's safe to vote in favor of CCB rather than against as they would like to do in order to fool their constituents.

I have one, maybe two, of those rinos for my Senator .................. Senator Crapo of Idaho! He's a proud member of the "Gang of Six" who was just reelected to another six year term, which just goes to show you the duplicitous games they play. We need to keep an accurate record of how these alleged conservatives play their little voting games and primary them out in the next election.

This is what happened to the demodummys/RINOS in 2010. A vote for ocare was a vote to be unemployed. CCB must become law.
