I’m assuming that your account of him wanting the government to control American businesses (stop “outsourcing”) is correct.

Allot of our problems are from jobs being outsourced. What they forget to say is that the Marxist, no growth, flat earth, environmentalist regulations and tax policies drive companies to outsource jobs as a form of self defense.

That was him but I did not hear him say GE he did mention
corporations not paying taxes but was not specific which is my point. If I misunderstood him and he did say GE I stand corrected

Well he did not actually say anything about the solution, just gripping about loss of jobs, and need to restore jobs. He may intend to be socialist, but then again he may simply mean that we should change the taxes and regulations to make the USA a more attractive place for investment.

That is the man. I did not know he was the Harold Stassen of the left. He apparently was George Romneys opponent in the '66 MI Gov race. It didn't end well for him.

He ran for Pres under the party he founded in 1970. He is a Commie Pinko leftist lawyer.

Yeh, as I remember he barely got the words GE and no taxes out before he was interrupted, it would have been easy to miss.

That sort of talk from politicians always makes me nervous. It’s their “Thereoughtabealaw gene” expressing itself.

This book is probably the most comprehensive Roemer bio available. The author - John Maginnis - is a typical lefty journo, but the book is reasonably accurate, as I am quite familiar with Louisiana politics as a participant/watcher and all the players involved.

So you're saying he's shy of George Wallace?

The pin threw me for a loop. I was in third grade when all those guys gut shot.

He is the ‘none’ in ‘none of the above’.

He is the space that fills the empty suit.

Pick any two numbers, he is the median.

Pick any two positions, he stands between them.

On your compass, he is the pivot point for the needle.

He is the perfect vacuum, which not even power can fill.

He is not bad, he is not good, he is just not.

I hope this helps.

“I remember David Duke, but I did not remember anything about Roemer.”

No one does. It is a truly impressive form of camouflage.

He used to contribute quite often to National Review. At the end of the article, one forgets immediately what it was about.

< S > Who IS Buddy Roemer?< /s >

All sarcasm aside, really? Who is he? Never heard of him before he announced for president.

Early and mid 1980s.

So far, this is what people have posted: apparently he was a Democrat turned Republican, who used to be a Governor of Louisiana, and served in the legislature, has some experience in the private sector. Someone posted that he lost a re-election bid to David Duke. The article said he graduated from Harvard - that was enough for me to say no thanks. I've had it with the Ivy league crowd!
