Election '12: The Republican presidential front-runner is oddly silent on Washington's momentous budget talks. Mitt Romney can run, but he can't hide his positions forever.
Massachusetts' former governor went to North Hollywood, Calif., on Wednesday with a "what else is new?" observation.
"The president's policies almost without question have caused this recession to be deeper and longer than it would have been," he said.
There's no "almost without question" about it. But it takes more to be elected president than pointing out what 14 million unemployed Americans 6.3 million of them out of work for more than six months feel only too well.
As Romney stood before the boarded-up windows of a foreclosed-on strip mall an Obamaville, if you will he said nothing of the epic confrontation taking place between the man he wants to replace and the leaders of his own party. Indeed, Romney says precious little about anything substantive as he enjoys front-runner status.
Go to the Romney for President website and you can enjoy "Mitt on the Road: North Country," a video about how his family used to "play in the streams and went to the woods" of New Hampshire. Click on "Fiscal Responsibility" and it promises, "Over the course of his campaign, Mitt will propose the specific steps he will take as president to ensure the long-term solvency of Medicare and Social Security."

Baraq won't beat anybody.
He only got 53% when EVERYTHING was in his favor.
Don't believe any polls, Baraq is toast in 012.
I pray that you ae right. Throw out the Commie & Cheif in the White House
What on earth makes you think Romney wouldn’t have signed-off on whatever healthcare legislation Pelosi and the dems were getting ready to ram through congress? Remember, BO would still have been a Senator, and Romney passed something similar in his home state and considered it an acceptable model for a national plan.
Also, why in the name of everything holy do you think Bachmann would run with Romney. Why do you think Romney would pick her instead of more obvious choices like Perry?
mittens is running in first place in most repub-only polls. I read he is tied with nobama in another poll.
If I were in his place, I’d be doing exactly what he’s doing. Why ruffle feathers when you’re number won?
I hope mittens enjoys his day in the sun. July 26th is next Tues. If Sarah jumps in (please?) mittens will be finished very quickly.
What romney would say depends on the hour of the day, or the day of the week, or the people he’s speaking to or... .
How?
He couldn't even beat McCain!
Why, because I, and hope millions of other Americans/Republicans, will vote against BO no matter who wins the primary. I anticipate a hold my nose and vote for the R candidate, because getting rid of BO is my must have goal!!
