Carney: Economy Has "Vastly Improved" Since Obama Was Sworn In
Real Clear Politics ^

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney: "Well, two things remain uncontestably true. The economy is vastly improved from what it was when Barack Obama was sworn into office as president. We were in economic free-fall. There were predictions that we were headed to the second Great Depression. We were losing up to, over 700,000 jobs a month, we were contracting at greater than 6 percent -- our economy was. So, the economy has improved. It has not improved enough. "Well, there's no question that we face headwinds, and the president has been very direct about that. And we need to do everything we can, across the front, to ensure we're doing what we can to spur growth, spur job creation."

I’ll bet the people from Borders will be glad to hear that. I bet all the people on food stamps will be relieved. All the people with no employment will just be bursting with joy. I am going to run down and tell all the small business owners in my town, oh wait there are none left
:(

And he justifies that contention how? Unemployment was at 7.2% on January 22, 2009, two days after BO was sworn into office. Today it’s 9.2%.

I went to publik skool so my math skills are subpar, but as I understand the comparison of two numbers, 9.2% is greater than 7.2%. So that means unemployment has gone up, I think. I could be wrong.

C’mon folks..
D.C.’s Economy HAS improved vastly since Obama took office. The rest of the country, not so much...

Remember, these people see the big, taxpayer-paid parties happening again, with the Democrat big-shots rolling up in their taxpayer-subsidized limos every night.

To those in the bubble, life is great living on OPM, or OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY!

You said...
“I suppose that I can see his point... The economy is “improving.” People are spending a lot more money now than when Obama was inaugurated.
For instance, I know the other day when I went to the grocery store, I spent about a dollar more for a carton of OJ, which BTW, is now 59oz rather than the 64oz container that it used to be. I’m paying quite a bit more for canned goods too, and they’re now 15oz, rather than 16oz.

And gasoline prices are way higher than they were back then.

So yes, I guess I can see how they would think that the economy is better. After all, people are spending more. And they see this as a “good thing.”

Mark”

LOL!!!

This is the fascist and communist belief, that if you say something long and loud enough, no matter how untrue, the sheep will believe it. It is the belief that people are basically stupid, gullible and passive.

My thought on this is that now they have their soundbite to play on the news broadcast over the radio. I'm convinced that this is the major source of news for those who can't be bothered by what's going on in the country. From the sound of most of what you hear on news reports at the "top and bottom of the hour", it's pretty much straight White House propaganda.

$4 gas
plunging home prices
skyrocketing food prices
9.2% unemployment (rising)
recurring $1.5 trillion deficits.

If we can’t defeat the Baraqqis on that reality, we deserve them for another 4 years.

Tax cuts and oil drilling would do it. Zero and his henchmen are dead-set against both.
